Only there's proof that they can find scheme fit RBs late (UDFA) that can actually do what Coleman does. Did you not watch this yr with Mostert, who outplayed Coleman. Did you not see Breida in 2018?

Playing S and WR isn't the same as playing RB. They have a OL built for run-blocking. They just need a guy who fits the mold of what they want as a runner (one cut fast RBs who knows the OZ running game).

Dumping Coleman is HOW you can resign Sanders. Restructuring McK is HOW you can resign sanders. Signing AA to a LT deal ( not tagging) is HOW you can resign Sanders.

With regards to building a roster and having a controllable cap you gotta stop being so emotional about each player. You should look at each player and ask what their worth is to the team? ALWAYS look at their contract and how easy is it to move off. Do we have cheaper options that can get similar results. Is this guy a LT player or a one yr thing etc etc...

ward is not a long term play, good bye. dump jet for good. keep the guys you have or cut breida and find one of those taco tico guys what is your plan to replace sanders if we dump him . cj has not worth, glad celek retired. worthless,. replace ward with a rookie. replace goodwin and pettis with a rookie. i am well aware of what mostert did.. i also saw what breida did and 2017 is not important.

Dude stop with the just dump McK stuff...I don't know how many times I have to tell you, they save MORE money by restructuring him. After that you can cut him BUT not before seeing how he is in camp.

There is no cutting Breida her a RFA. There is no dumping sanders he's a UFA. The market will determine what his worth is. Cutting Coleman and restructuring McK HELPS on bringing back Sanders.

There is no pt in cutting Pettis either. They lose more money by doing this... gotta stop being emotional about players.

Actually what these UDFA RBs did IS important...it's proof that they don't have to spend a ton on the RB position to get good production.

sorry but i look at a players production, what they contribute to a team and his body of work to see if he deserves a spot on the roster. sure lets keep breida and watch him fumble and cost us a game. lets keep pettis and see him never play each week but by god. we saved some dollars so its all good

And you simply don't get it from a financial point of view.

You b***h about wanting Sanders back YET don't understand how to get the money required to get him back

How'd that b***hing about not wanting AA and Ward on the team this time last yr (because of production) work out for ya?

I never said anything about keeping Breida he's a RFA there's nothing to dump, he's not on the books right now....cutting Pettis does NOTHING in terms of saving money to upgrade the position. We lose absolutely zero by having him come into camp and compete with a 90 man roster.

He's very much like his father that way. I think they may also be looking to add a RB in the mid to late rounds of this years draft as well. RB is a position that churns bodies.

i hope we have extra picks to do that. we could trade goodwin and cj right now for 2 6th round picks and then get your running back you spoke of.. wilson deserves more time in my opinion as well

Why waste a pick on a RB when we have Wilson sitting in the wings?

i have no idea how it will shake out.. we will have 4 running backs for sure. i would be more than happy with coleman wilson mostert and maybe a pick to replace breida. wilson should get more chances especially when it comes to catching the ball.. its just some are hell bound to get rid of coleman and keep the alleged jet. i guess they want an extra back in case the jet. predictably can not make the team

I think Breida comes back. We have plenty to get us through the year.

1 - Mostert
2 - Coleman
3 - Breida
4 - Wilson

6th rd pick or later on a RB is not wasting a pick at all...transitioning from a college RB to a NFL RB is probably one of the easiest transitions. That's your best bang for your buck if you want production early.

Rather use a late pick on something else than crowd the RB depth with another player.

and we are terrible at drafting running backs. i would rather use a 6th on a o line guy or a tight end or someone else in a position of need on the team. hell even a extra d line guy

IMO I would like it to go down like this....

Mostert
rookie RB
Wilson
Jet

just a PSA on what SF is currently spending on RBs (if they pickup Brieda's option)

Mostert-$3M
Coleman-$5M
Jet-$8.5M
Wilson-$660K
Brieda- low tender (get no pick if team signs him) $2M. Qualifying offer $3.2M (get a 2nd if a team signs him).
Juice $6.7M (already picked up his option).

That's over $25M on RBs/FB

cutting Coleman, restructuring McK, and not tendering Breida would save SF like $13M.... there's your Sanders contract for this yr (or AA).

Go get a late rd outside zone RB who's gonna be dirt cheap for 4 yrs.
