Marcus Lattimore had his knee wrapped around his head...he's lucky he can walk. Every video I've seen of McK he's cutting well, speed and power are there as well.
He doesn't need to be a 200 touch guy, third down back who can catch the ball and offer some juice.

Maybe they trust their medical staff? you know, the professionals who actually get paid to look at Jet and then determine if his knee is no longer a concern.
Looking at him workout on IG, he looks like he's close to his old self with the way he's cutting and jumping again. Also because of this pandemic, he's going to have a few extra months before he has to get on an NFL field again, so he'll be even further removed from his last setback.
My understanding is he's playing for free this year. That beats Breida's contract, *I think.* At least that's what the article (no link) I read alluded to.
As for his health, I just saw the video and he does look good. But looking good and getting hit on that injured let is a bit different. I'm pulling for all our players getting 100% healthy and never ever getting injured or re-injured again. But again, between a 3rd down back vs an all down back -- I'd like an all down back that can play all four downs if possible.
Having said that, Jalen Hurd, who is bigger than McKinnon, and our new WR's in this years draft are able to run on 3rd down and long as well as catch passes, so I think letting Breida go and getting an extra 5th was a good move.

Because they can pickup UDFAs and make it work. No need to pay Breida $3M. Hasty/Ahmed/wilson can all make this final roster. (I like Hasty he's got some Freeman in him).
I like the UDFA backs they've signed. I hope and I think it's a reasonable hope, that one of the backs can make it to the practice squad and also possibly on the team. But with last years backs minus Breida, it's still a good group. I'd love to have a big back like a Roger Craig/Rick Watters - all down - back, but with Kyle's system, I don't think you really need that kind of a big back. What you need is speed and cutting ability. You're one of the draft guru's I rely on so I weigh your opinion on this matter very heavily.

I hope this dude actually sees the field. I really doubt it though. Luck just doesn't seem to be on his side

10000% he would be our only like legitimate threat out of the backfield. Right now that's TC and that's not saying much.

I thought he would be a great fit before way before we signed him. It sucks we haven't seen him out there. I feel confident he will be back and useful because he's great in pass protection.
I'm certainly rooting for him this year.

How is that not saying much ?? Almost everytime the ball was thrown to him it was an explosive play.

His routes out of the backfield are not very extensive like it is for Jet. Jet would get the Faulk treatment as a receiver from the backfield. I love TC but he isn't on that level.

He ranked 3rd in YAC for rbs at 9.8 ypc. That means he is getting a first down everytime he catches it. Shanahan seemed to not really want to utilize him in the pass game

TC is decent out of the backfield but a healthy Jet is an entirely different animal. There are plays strictly designed for Jet. TC doesn't have that ability and there isn't anything wrong with that. He's very reliable with catching the ball but the types of routes that he is able to do isn't anything close to being on Jets level.

Jet has been collecting some hefty checks for not playing a single down.
