And the rest of his career he has been very underwhelming. And no one can say with any certainty that he is anything close to what he was after missing 2 seasons.

Alvin kamara also has Payton and Drew Brees. There's a laundry list of good pass catching backs in that system.

I'm also not saying he's Alvin I'm showing you when he actually did get passing throw his way, he put up solid numbers.

Not until Shurmur became OC did they actually get him involved in the passing game.

I'm gonna trust shanahan/Turner when it comes to RBs my man

Like Joe Williams I suppose.
He was so terrific in the Vikings offense that Minnesota showed no interest in trying to retain him.
I agree with SWH. The hype is excessive and completely without merit.

Yes like Breida, Freeman, Coleman, Mostert, Morris etc...yup you're right shanahan doesn't know RBs or how to use them...Bobby Turner doesn't now s**t about RBs either lol. Stop.

Weird Minn wasn't gonna pay him want he wanted and he had SF and the Jets both looking for his services. That's how FA works, Also they drafted Cook that same off season.

Again who's hyping him up? No one is expecting him to be some pro-bowler. If he's healthy he adds another element to the RB group. Dats it, no need to make a big deal out of it

His knees look good, but now he's Deebo thick

Hmmm... well u originally bringing up Kamara's stats (in a down year i guess to make a point?)....

...but being on the opposite side of the fence in these 2 consecutive posts...

...what you're effectively saying is equate his quality to his stats if they are lower #'s for a year, but for the higher career stat #s...equate the quality of his QBs to his stats...?!

Dont want to jump to such confusing conclusions (because the single year vs career points are always made in reverse of what u just said), but that's how it reads...

if he cant do that like 2 years after the injury, his leg will never be 100% again. he may still be good, an fast, but not as much as he was originally. bummer but we can still use him. what people keep forgetting is we have 3 or 4 starting RBs. we dont need McK to put up a 1000 yard season. 5-10 snaps a game with alot of them as a receiver could make this guy deadly in our offense even if he has lost a touch of his top speed.

Absolutely

Deebo thick but all muscle. Kid is and always was freaky athletic and offseason workouts or "staying in shape" is not a problem for him like Deebo, no comparison there at all

I just dont know where this whole thing came from that he is some amazing pass catching or duel threat running back. He has averaged 246 receiving yards a year for his career. For reference, that would have made him 34th in the NFL in 2019.

We all hope JM will do SOMEthing for us in 2020. But the amount people gas him up in this thread is just crazy.

His last yr in Minn he had like 420 receiving yards & avg 8.3 ypr...FWIW Alvin Kamara had like 530 yards and avg 6.6 YPR this past yr. I think most would call him a quality receiving RB.

Last yr our two top RBs Coleman/Mostert each had 180 receiving yards. Without question he adds another element to this offense that the other RBs don't have.

Good call!
