I'm excited to see these guys on the field this could be quite the year for Jimmy G

Nice post! I keep preaching the same thing especially with a short passing game which we lacked to running back's last year and Trent Taylor is the man on third downs.

You think so? I'm not a fan of only having a horizontal stretch offense. Defenses can easily play C3 and crowd the s**t out of all those short routes. Praying Aiyuk can help vertically stretch the field. He's our only hope. Otherwise, it will be another season of short passing and heavily relying on play design while we chip away down the field. It's going to get frustrating.

Can't just put Jet, Mostert, Juszczyk, and Kittle on the field into space without that deeper threat. Even if Deebo is in, it just isn't feasible in the long run. The better defenses will make it tough to sustain long drives.

I'm not a fan of it either but I don't object to McKinnon getting open at Will against most any linebacker and Trent Taylor converting third downs when we need them instead of waiting for a route to develop with an overmatched receiver or horrible pass blocking. Either way we just want to keep the chains moving and score, that's with those two players.

Brandon, Kittle and eventually deebo will be able to stretch the field vertically (not so much deebo) so they won't crowd the LOS as much
Kyle is making noise about using the entire field this year which is great. Now they have to go out and actually do it.

What's interesting also is in that same article you referenced, as it was pointed out, jimmys deep hall isn't to bad is it, contrary to what you & others have been saying constantly.

" The irony is that the 49ers passer was the most accurate quarterback in the NFL last season on passes of 20-or-more yards. Garoppolo was 19-of-31 on such throws."

And that is one astounding stat. Actually with all that has been said about JimmyG's passing, it makes one wonder what fans were talking about when they belittled JGs arm.

Hopefully the new speedsters on the team can bolster those long ball stats. I mean if you are #2 in running, so many teams will load up on the run, so they will be severely vulnerable on the deep ball.
Can someone just start a "Jerick McKinnon tears ACL, out for the season" thread now so it'll be ready to go?

Jimmy was great passsing downfield..........when the receiver was open by at least 5 yards because Shanahan fooled the defense with the play design.

I want to see Jimmy connecting with his receivers in 20 or 25-yrd passes throwing to thight windows showing accuracy and good mechanics.

I think the only throw downfield with accuracy he made into a thight window was the TD to Deebo in the Ravens game.

Since Kyle's been here, we haven't really seen that receiving RB threat the way he had in Atlanta. Hopefully, Jet can stay healthy and bring that aspect to the offense.
shanny confirming that a big reason they signed mckinnon in '18 was because of his ability to run routes and catch passes

Lol
So he leads the league on passes of 20 or more yards but "he needs to do better & throw it into tighter coverage"!!

LMFAO
Got it!

Do some of you even read what you type!?

You know what I'd like to see?
O-line & receiver consistency for two years..
f**k, i'd even take one full season..

Jimmy has had different receivers & a rotating O-line since he suited up for the 49ers & has only played one full year But that Seems to fly over a lot of people's heads.
Context is everything.
