Another solid move. I will wait until I see the numbers but I assume he was a target of Kyle's and will be schemed up nicely. I wonder if LaMicheal James would have gotten off to a better start if Kyle were coaching him? So nice to have an offensive coach that actually knows offense. Another piece to the puzzle. caught 51 balls for around 400 yards last season. I'm sure that number will go up plus his speed is perfect for this system. RBs have to do more than run the ball these days. Kamara won rookie of the year and didn't even run for 1000 yards. Plus McKinnon can pass block.

McKinnon's pass protection is very good. Among the best for RBs in the NFL.

This is an awful contract for a player that should be making a third of what he signed for.

Add Earl Mitchell, Malcolm Smith, and Kyle Juszyzk to the mix and you've got a track record of overpaying for mediocre players/unimportant positions.

And I love everything Garoppolo, but time and again we're seeing franchises succeed when QBs are on their rookie contracts and they can use that cap space to build the rest of the team. 49ers could have gone that route, but opted to pay big at the QB position. Eagles and Rams are prime examples.

His vision is horrible

McKinnon should be an excellent 3rd down back, WIP in early down run game.

He was unreliable on running on 1st down. I'd expect another RB to play first and then sub him in for 2nd/3rd

Could we please retire the term "offensive weapon"? This sounds like a term a Wal-Mart corporate executive made up. "John, stop calling yourself a 'cashier' -- we prefer to use the title 'Product Transaction Quality Assurance Representative'!"

We get it, McKinnon is a threat out of the backfield. Lots of running backs are.

Only he's not just catching balls out of the backfield...he can lineup outside or in the slot.

What would you like to call him? RB/WR? OW is easier.

Go look at Alvin Kamara and how they use him in NO...that's how he will be used.
