He's our James White but a better runner and pass protector
And the energy he brings to the game. We talked about Trent Williams leadership and energy but if you notice Jet even without the mic, he just brings so much enthusiasm not only in every game but in every play actually. Our team is composed with lots of high character players.
He isnt someone that should be carrying the ball 15 times. Give him 5 carries and some passes, people here bashed coleman but he brings a different style of running
He has no burst when he gets the ball
Why didnt they use Hasty more?? Mckinnon should have probably been more involved in the pass game than run game

We're trying to hide him.

Yeah I agree. I'm not sure he's the same player he once was. He may be fast but he sure hits the hole slow.

The way our run game has been in the last few weeks, screw it. Put him in the starting lineup until our top backs return.

We have been spoiled by Mostert, the way that guy sees holes and EXPLODES upfield.....perfect for Kyle's system. McKinnon is a good back, he has a burst and nice cuts, really good receiving back. But tonight the O Line got dominated, when there were running lanes Jet looked good.

May not be able to with the way this run game is going unfortunately, Kyle should know his personal. Mckinnon is not an every down back yet they forced that role on him last night
Jet has never been an every down runner. It isn't going to happen now. We desperately need Mostert and TeCo back. And Wilson needs to see more carries.

Its the same problem Coleman has, he's not a back that can find that hole by himself. He has to have a lane to run through.Cant put it all on the OL , there were definitely holes for him
Guy can pass protect and catch but he doesn't have the vision or burst for this system.

This. This. And more this. The knee injuries have robbed him of his jet speed. Shanahan's system employs the best attributes out of shifty, quick, darting RB's that can spot the opening in a zone read and hit that hole like they were blasted out of a hot furnace. If The Jet had this ability at one time, and perhaps he did, he doesn't have it any longer. Not that I've seen in four games anyhow.

Shanahan may be forced to play the younger rookie hands at some point because the running game just isn't there with McKinnon. Last night's loss wasn't his fault, but he didn't help matters much because he simply could not get untracked. Mullens was forced into far too many third and long throws because the running game wasn't getting it done.

Part of this also falls on the offensive line, which played, perhaps, the worst collective game I've seen out of a 49er line in a long time. It wasn't just Trent Williams and McGlinchey. They were all pretty terrible last night.
This guy ain't no jet. He slow af, we need mustard and coleman back asap.
He's not meant to be a featured back running the ball as much like he's been forced to do with all the injuries. Coming back after the last two years being injured himself...the situation to start this season hasn't been ideal.

That said, this guy is showing why he's such a threat in the passing game with the way he catches (also good at pass pro). He had seven more catches last night. When Mostert and Coleman are back, looking forward to seeing the impact Jet will make combined with those two.
