He is okay at the between low to middle level for running back.

Yeah because Wilson sure has been lighting it up and they arent even playing Hasty. Dont be surprised if coleman jumps right back in

To give you an idea of the 49ers' struggles to cohesively run block: Jerick McKinnon had more yards after contact than actual rushing yards yesterday

I agree Coleman isnt as bad as people make him out to be he doesnt have the burst of Mostert but who does?? Ive said this before out running game is highlighted by guys with different skill sets and they compliment each other. These last couple of games have shown why McKinnon isnt a lead back and its hard to ask that of him, truth be told he was never the lead back even with Minnesota so why people expect him to be one now escapes me. Maybe because Shanny and Lynch had to over pay him to come to SF but I dont think the vision ever included him being the work horse he should have about 5-7 carries per game and 5-7 targets and thats where I believe he will maximize his value.

If we have him in the backfield we just need to let him do what he's good at: picking up blitzes and catching out of the backfield. To hell with handing it off to him

Did not expect everyone to be down on McKinnon in here. Yes, I agree, he doesn't seem to have the burst anymore. But he played a tough, effective game for the most part. Of course I want to see Mostert back and McKinnon in the pass-catching role he's more suited to at this point. But I admired the way he played last night, even if the lost speed was a bit sad to see.

I don't understand why he is getting so much flack. He has a TD every game and averages about 70 yards per game. I think that's an average of around 1100 yards and 16 TD's over a 16 game schedule.

He's not going to keep up that pace.

Of course he has. It is good to see. What the knockers do not see is that when the Oline has a bad games so does the running backs who have no lanes to find.

No, it should increase. What I'm seeing on film is being out of sync with the zone scheme at times. Like, the play where T. Williams got called for holding. There was a lane inside, for some reason he bounced it outside. Im sure Shanny is all over him for that.
Another, he got tackled for a 5 yard loss or so, Woerner totally blew a blocking assignment. We pick that up, it's Ike a 20-30 yarder.
