Jerrick "the biplane" Mckinnon. Dude doesnt have the wheels nor the vision of Hasty and especially not Mostert.

McKinnon has lost his burst since his injury. He hasn't really been explosive at all. Hasty was alot.more explosive tonight.

Hasty is making a case for the number two spot behind Mostert

At this point (provided he doesnt have ball security issues that coaches see in practice), I dont see how he hasnt leaped McKinnon on the depth chart. I was very happy with the early season success with JM, after not expecting a thing from him. He has massively exceeded my expectations. But now that we can evaluate him for what he is, rather than using the out for the season/not contributing anything measuring stick, I think its time to say that he really cant be relied on and looks really slow and sluggish out there.

Um, not sure if serious but that's not really that great of an idea. Maybe Bell has something left. He's 28. He also lead the league in rushing attempts his last year in Pittsburgh, sat out the next year to prove a point, and went to the Jets and pretty much sucked.
Besides, the team was never interested this time around and he's a Chief.

I think JET will get more comfortable as the season goes. He is still a double threat in Redzone.

How can he not be comfortable yet? He's been in the system for like 3 years now. He was force fed carries for the small stretch where Mostert was out.
He clearly doesn't have the vision that Mostert or even Hasty has and I don't know enough about his career to know if he ever did.
Mostert makes something out of nothing. I even seen Hasty cut back and hit an open lane when it's clear that the play was meant to go though a different hole but had been clogged up. Jerrick just smashes into brick walls hoping for the best.
That brings me to my next point. When he smashes into these linemen its like he's moving in slow motion. Hasty and even Wilson look like they're shot out of a cannon. I don't mind a methodical runner who's looking for the open lane but he's not doing that. Its "go this way at all costs" with him.
Obviously I want success for every Niner but I really don't want to see another game of force feeding jerrick (even though I'm starting him in FF this week ).

3 years in the system rehabbing. The injury and setbacks he had takes a while to physically and mentally recover from. So since Hasty looks good we should get rid of a veteran like Jet when Mostert is on IR?! That would be a really dumb move just to go with Wilson and Hasty.

I don't like this guy as a RB. Shanahan should switch him to slot receiver for the rest of the year. Seriously, how can he be worse than Trent "edelman" Taylor?

Did you actually read my post or are you just responding to arguments in your head? Please point to me where I said we should get rid of him???
I said I dont want to see him force fed again. A few touches here and there, sure. I dont want to see him in on 97% of our snaps like he was in the Philly game. Hell, he was in on 62% against the Giants and averaged an amazing 2.7 yards a carry. What about 2.7 yards earns him 97% of the offensive snaps the next game?
Jerrick was never an every down back. I dont know much about his previous history but I do know that. We over payed for him because he was thought of as the perfect back for Shannys system. Maybe he gets his speed back, maybe he doesnt. But I doubt he gains the vision this late in his career.

He's too slow to do anything useful. Just cut him.

I don't think he'll ever get his speed back and it does look like we overpaid due to his accumulated injuries. But he is not a smash type RB and to say he is being force fed with 6 carries is a little bit of an exaggeration. They tried to get him going and it didn't work. Even if he is on that day and our OL are opening up lanes, he will only most likely get about 10 carries a game depending on other RB injuries. He should be in when he can be utilized as a dual threat. With Philly he maybe in 97% of the plays, but those aren't all from carries. He was being used as receiver or to block. I agree Hasty should get more carries, but I think Jet can have some big plays for us catching out of the back field.

Another game situation to consider is on those end arounds and shovel passes to Deebo, the RB becomes an important blocker on those plays. When Deebo converted on the 3rd & 7 to seal the game vs LAR, it was Jet in the game lead blocking. Can Hasty be counted to lead block? He was not asked to in the LAR game.
