Breida = change of pace back/OW
Mckinnon = change of pace back/OW

One just got a 4 years 30 million, one is on a rookie contract. IMO the 49ers didn't need to over pay Mckinnon. They could get similar production from Brieda.

There's a difference between 3rd down back and "change of pace" back

Not to mention Brieda was obviously a rookie last season, those numbers will rise as his experience does.

And the Paraag cycle commences again!

Look at those yearly salaries - if it doesn't work out, they can get out of it.

Is it just me or is there typo in there? He says McKinnion is making $37M while everyone else is saying $30M. What am I misreading lol.

I am thoroughly convinced people just feel how they want to feel.

Im not a huge fan of this one.

We overpaid for a Fullback last season. I know it was justified because he was far and away the best FB in the league pretty much, but it was clear we overpaid.

I though Shanny could pull any back from the draft and make them superstars in this system. Why are we spending so much on a FA RB, when this draft class is extremely deep?

The difference is that $6.9m roster bonus in 2021. Something that is highly unlikely to be exercised.

$30 mil + 2021 option bonus of $6.9 mil.

Just because you say the words "over pay" doesn't make it one. And he will get even better with a full season with Jimmy G.

This. I trust that Shanahan has a plan and that McKinnon will thrive in this offense.

If they acquire a RB more capable of running well between the tackles in the draft then I won't have any issue with it.

My main objection is that they are incredibly one dimensional at RB right now with essentially three change of pace backs and a special teamer in Mostert.
and i think it is perfectly reasonable to have this opinion and not have to hear.. oh you think more than lynch and shanny crap.. and i will also add, those who use,.. but but joe williams as rebuttal to phoenix are foolish

CC meet me in the Ward thread to slap hands

OMG how can anyone defend this contact???

He's never rushed for over 570 yards 3 touchdowns season career high

You said OW and those numbers show he is not one.

Id rather have kept Hyde. Way over paid for this dude. He is just a 3rd down back at best and we already have that in Breda.

Hyde was holding this offense back, Jet has the talent to elevate it.
