Can you provide one link that says he will be a 3rd down back?

His entire career is your link.
So you can't...

4.41. Dude was a Combine Hall Of Famer, blew up like few guys I've seen blow up in all the time I've followed the draft. Freak doesn't even begin to describe him.

Yep, they had to compete with the Jets, so overpaid 2-3 mil. It's all good.

He did have the opportunity when AP was suspended for the season for spanking his kid.

The Vikings tried to use him as an every down back and he instantly got hurt. They literally played Matt Asiata down the stretch over him.

LOL. They played Asiata over him.

1. McKinnon was a rookie.
2. Asiata was in his 3rd year with the team, knew the system.
3. Weeks 3 thru 11 (McKinnon injured back in week 11, went on IR), McKinnon had more carries 6 of those 9 games.

In those 9 games:
Jet: 108 carries, 531 yds, 4.9 ypc
Asiata: 84 carries, 285 yds, 3.4 ypc

Its logical to look at the guys career, and assume his trajectory will stay about the same. It is illogical, to assume he will become Kamara in our offense because KS...

32 reps at 209 lbs is insane. That's more than most OL and DL.

How many career snaps has he taken under Shanahan?

You really think he is only going to be a third down back in Shanny's offense. Lol the reaction today.

for 20+ mil in his first two years, he better be playing every f**king down. However, he wont be. He will be a third down back.

I love me some Juice, and wouldnt change the signing But how does his contract measure up to his contribution?

This RB contract sounds far and away the worst contract we are carrying, and thats with us just retaining Jimmy Ward.

Can people cool their jet's and actually look at the deal...front loaded and basically a one yr deal if we want

12 milion in the first year for a third down RB. No matter how you cut it, its not a good contract.

where are you getting $12 million he has a cap hit of $10.5...nothing else matters. He got his money upfront, if he plays well then he's cheap in 2019 ($4.5 million cap hit) what in the world did you think he would get paid? This is 2018 and the cap space is at $178 million lol. I don't care if his a 3rd down back or whatever you're trying to say, he's gonna get yards thru the air on and on the ground.

Yes, people need to chill a bit and look at numbers and history.

The reason Kyle likes him despite the fact he did not put up big numbers in Minnesota is because Kyle's system is a fair bit different than the one Shurmur ran there. There are a number of similarities in the passing game but the run game is not the same.

Look for McKinnon to be used quite differently and in ways that will max his ability. He is almost identical in measurements as Devonta Freeman.

people didn't see the deal this AM, all we saw was 4 yrs $30 million!!! ahhhh we got f**ked BUT Paraag did Paraag things, McKinnon get's most of his guaranteed cash this yr and we can dump if we want and not take a hit really at all.

IF he plays well then he's on a team friendly cap hit in 2019. All I care about is cap space

4 years $30M didn't sound terrible to me (it made sense for a FA signing, anyway) but $22.9M in two years? A jump from $30M to $36.9M? That made no sense. I'm thinking the $6.9M bonus was counted twice and Breer meant to say three years. That matches with what sportrac and reports this morning are saying.

Either way it is what it is.
Only 12 million first year for a second tier RB. That's a steal!

People defending this would drink Lynch's bath water. This is a trash contract. I'm excited by the player and I'm not gonna worry too much about it. But it looks to me to be a bad contract but if there was a bidding war it's for a reason.
