Only 12 million first year for a second tier RB. That's a steal!

People defending this would drink Lynch's bath water. This is a trash contract. I'm excited by the player and I'm not gonna worry too much about it. But it looks to me to be a bad contract but if there was a bidding war it's for a reason.

$4M the second year doesn't sound too bad though...

You really think he is only going to be a third down back in Shanny's offense. Lol the reaction today.

for 20+ mil in his first two years, he better be playing every f**king down. However, he wont be. He will be a third down back.

I love me some Juice, and wouldnt change the signing But how does his contract measure up to his contribution?

This RB contract sounds far and away the worst contract we are carrying, and thats with us just retaining Jimmy Ward.

Can people cool their jet's and actually look at the deal...front loaded and basically a one yr deal if we want

12 milion in the first year for a third down RB. No matter how you cut it, its not a good contract.

Front loading the contract in a year when they won't meet all the cap room anyway isn't that bad of an arrangement. Is it a bit more than they probably should have paid? Sure. Is it terrible? No. If he performs it'll be well worth it when the back end money kicks in. If he doesn't, they used a little more of the 2018 cap room but are able to get out of it by 2020.

With cap rollover wasted money is wasted money no matter what year you throw it away. Hopefully he is worth $12M this year.

Overpaid in 2018 where we have the cap room. His cap hit if he doesn't work out and is off the roster in 2019 is a total of $2m.

You get that from your Kyle Shannahan?

I get that from the history of his career.

You have no clue how KS is planning to use him.

where are you getting $12 million he has a cap hit of $10.5...nothing else matters. He got his money upfront, if he plays well then he's cheap in 2019 ($4.5 million cap hit) what in the world did you think he would get paid? This is 2018 and the cap space is at $178 million lol. I don't care if his a 3rd down back or whatever you're trying to say, he's gonna get yards thru the air on and on the ground.

He got paid more than Hyde and Lewis.

He has shown nothing in his career to show he is more than a high end third down back.

I get he is a system fit, but they overpaid. Period. Just as they did for Juice.

I never said that myself. I think he will add a much needed weapon in the slot and also in the ZBS. Is he an every down back? No, but to think we only plan to use him on 3rd down is just wrong. Why would we not use him when we used Breida 60 times on first and 40 times on second? Keep in mind we are in the higher 20's in the league on rushing attempts.

4.41. Dude was a Combine Hall Of Famer, blew up like few guys I've seen blow up in all the time I've followed the draft. Freak doesn't even begin to describe him.

Taylor Mays had a great combine too.

Wait, Paraag DIDNT give out an irresponsible and costly contract? Oh thats right, he never does bad deals.

Some people here are ridiculously short sighted. We JUST saw Paraag work Sherman for a great contract, and some peoples first reaction to this was to cry about McKinnon getting 30 mil?

Can you provide one link that says he will be a 3rd down back?

His entire career is your link.
So you can't...

Marquise Goodwin is a horrible comparison. Kid was a two sport athlete up until he became a 49er. Couldn't even take the same supplements NFL players can lol.
