when he got atleast 10 carries a game he avg 84 yards from scrimmage a game...that's not too shabby. I'd think that will improve in a kyle shanahan offense with JImmy G at the helm.
He's a mismatch guy...think Alvin Kamara

The Vikings have a power/inside run scheme.
From the Richburg signing and this we're fully transitioning to outside zone dominant and McKinnon fit's that scheme much better than what the Vikings used him for.

Needs to have more rushing yards.
Depends...look at the Freeman/ Coleman splits under Shanny. One was clearly the predominant pass catching back and one favored the run. If we see McKinnon with a split like that and Breida gets a grand on the ground with Wlliams chipping in another 300 or so? That is a hell of a run game.
Like i have said you dont give 30M to a RB to have him rush 150 times.
You might when he has a 75% catch rate and average close to 8 yards per reception out of the back field and a team that didn't feature his style of play.

Just looked at this guys highlights and it seems like he catches a ton of balls out of the backfield. I think they like his pass catching ability which is why they like him over Hyde. Only averaged 3.8 yards a carry which is worrisome. Does show an ability to finish long runs with tds which is something Hyde couldn't do. Conclusion ... better fit for this offense but not necessarily a better back than Hyde ,just a better fit . as for the money its not mine to spend so whatever.

He is a chess piece and someone not many linebackers can cover. He is in the mold of Dion Lewis, Christian Mcaffrey or Kamara and returns kicks also.
Agreed. Great post.

When he goes absolutely nuts in this offense will anyone really give a f**k about the contract ?!?! He's a great fit for what Kyle wants to do, he's young dynamic and has not been overused at all..this offense now needs a starting G and red zone WR and it's on !!!!!

how does he suck? He was a top 10 RB last year and will only be 26.
Lol, in no way shape or form has he ever been a top 10 RB. He wasn't even in the top 30 in rushing yards or TDs last year.

Except catch the ball...which is the most important requirement for a Shanny RB.
