Oh yeah? Do tell...

Lol!! f**king Siri.

The Vikings have a power/inside run scheme.

From the Richburg signing and this we're fully transitioning to outside zone dominant and McKinnon fit's that scheme much better than what the Vikings used him for.

Exactly.

Just looked at this guys highlights and it seems like he catches a ton of balls out of the backfield. I think they like his pass catching ability which is why they like him over Hyde. Only averaged 3.8 yards a carry which is worrisome. Does show an ability to finish long runs with tds which is something Hyde couldn't do. Conclusion ... better fit for this offense but not necessarily a better back than Hyde ,just a better fit . as for the money its not mine to spend so whatever.

Pretty much spot in

He sucks so much the Vikings traded for Latavius Murray and drafted Cook with their first pick in the draft last season . And we give him $30 mil. LMAO

Yep. We're clearly signing sheme fit players.

Westin isn't even 300lbs. McK is going to be dynamic. Not a bellcow, but Shanny doesn't employ a single feature back.

That must be one hell of an office.
Nice pick up. I guess we can drop the RB in round 1 or 2 debate!

Forget the contract, dude just sucks. I would have much rather paid Hyde $15 mil of that was all it took. McKinnon does NOTHING better than Hyde

how does he suck? He was a top 10 RB last year and will only be 26.

Lol, in no way shape or form has he ever been a top 10 RB. He wasn't even in the top 30 in rushing yards or TDs last year.

Well you would be wrong.

Top 10 in what??? PFFs little fairy tale stats that have Arik Armstead as a future HOF?!

They do? Listen in this day you need a mismatch RB and that's what he is. Dude is like Kamara and can line up as a WR as well.

I'm a little shocked on the sticker price, but I'll wait for the details to come out.

IF we get a Royce Freeman/Penny/Chubb to go with him well that's a f**king awesome backfield IMO.

Kyle is licking his chops right now
Still need a primary back

I think McKinnon adds an element the Niners havent had on this team in years. Literally. I also agree they overpaid for his services but its not my money and the guarantees are really all that matters. He isnt a feature back but super versatile and can play some WR. He is a chess piece and someone not many linebackers can cover. He is in the mold of Dion Lewis, Christian Mcaffrey or Kamara and returns kicks also.

Agreed. Great post.

He's a returner too?

That's too much money for this guy. What is this? There is no production level to say he is worth that much money. He doesn't have enough numbers to be worth that contract. I don't get this one. He's a fast RB. But the production just is not there.

His yearly stats aren't great, but he doesn't get a lot of touches in that offense. Looking at his catch rate, yards per catch, and longest run/ reception stats you can see the potential. It also encouraging that when the Vikes had better blocking his numbers jumped up into the 5 yards per carry range. The big number they trot out with every contract sounds large, but we know it is never what it seems with out negotiating team and he does appear to be a great scheme fit looking at how Shanny used backs in Atlanta.
I never get free agency right, the dudes I target are never the ones the team signs...except today! Love the signing, we may have over paid a bit, but a real pass catching threat out of the backfield is critical to this offense!
