I wonder how we handle Trent Brown. Cut or trade?

Cutting a guy who can get a second or third round pick would be pretty stupid
Well, trade is what I was leaning for. But this pick was such a surprise to me. Has me thinking that anything's possible. It shows that they had no faith in him regardless of his very solid play. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the pick. I totally see why he was picked, not to mention he's a real scheme fit, so I support the selection. Not sure of we'd get a 2nd for him. If we did it'll be a fleece.

I can see a 3rd, but honestly how much value can we really expect get for him? What team will be willing to hand over a 3rd - in this most talented of drafts - when everyone just saw us draft his immediate replacement? If I were a GM I'd just wait until we release him. I doubt very seriously he'll be on the roster going into the 2018 season.
I'm about to dive deeper into some McGlinchey film. I don't hate the pick, but I obviously don't love it.. he is a day 1 RT, could end up being a good LT. A lot of talent on the board still, we all knew OL was coming early.. at least we got the #1 tackle.

Now let's trade Brown and a pick to go get our boy Harold Landry

Whatever happens... I trusted the draft process of Shan and Lynch last year.. we got talented players, I have no reason to doubt this will be any different.
49erFaithful everyday, trust the process fellas.

Glad to see we're protecting the merchandise, Jimmy Moneybags

One word..........reach.

...ing for a reason to be a hater.

A day 1 starter at RT and future franchise LT for a decade at 9 is anything but a reach.

Where have u seen him as a LT ??? Everything I've read about him at tha start said he wasnt a NFL LT

IDK how he'll be as a tackle in the NFL let alone LT, but apparently he played LT in college

"Standing 6-7 and with 34-inch arms, McGlinchey has the size and the reach the team wants at the position and he battled some of he best pass rushers in the nation -- including No. 5 overall pick Bradley Chubb -- while at Notre Dame. McGlinchey played his first two seasons there on the right side and the last two at left tackle.

Yes but he can't handle speed which is why he's going to take over at right tackle. Everybody thinks I don't like the guy and I don't think he's a good offensive lineman but that's not the case I just think we could have got way better in the first round than we just did

You don't have to convince me about your whining, this pick made me yawn and stop watching the draft soon after the announcement
Dude looks like a beast!!!!

i like this pick a whole hell of a lot better than last year's pick. At least you know he won't be a bust.
We made the raiders settle for kolton miller

Worth it

Guess so
I just dont get the hate for this pick. I think hes going to be stud at this level. The 49ers got tge best tackle prospect in the draft. And at a position of need. Best pass rusher was off the board, best corner was off the board, best playmaker, best linebacker, all off the board.ILL

What other positions of need still had the best prospect at the position available?

Terrible value pick? So the best tackle prospect is now less valuable than the second or third best pass rusher or corner prospect? Seems some people don't understand the value of an elite tackle prospect.

Von Miller will get around him in slow motion, tie his shoe laces together so he will trip, then run after JG
