McGlinchey is awful in pass pro, injured or not.

He's been awful in the past and he's awful now.

It's not going to change.

I guarantee PFF will give him like a 70+ rating

He is terrible. Is Jaylan Moore that much worse? Moore was starting to play better at left tackle.

I feel like Moore needs a ton of experience at the cost of everyone else lol He improves, but makes some bad plays too often. That being said how else can you learn?

Sadly McG is probably the best RT we have atm, its a damn sin. he sucks.

I don't know Brunskill can give him a run for his money if they could look past that we spent a 1st rounder on him

I've been saying this for awhile now.

It's time to move on from Glinch and give someone else a shot ( Brunskill )

He.is playing out the year and departing for big bucks in free agency. Our team will suffer greatly for this 2024 third round comp pick (my guess).
What ever it is, this guy needs to go. It's either a hold or way too much pressure on Jimmy from the right side.
Big Mike's an adept run blocker, but in his 5th season he's still a liability in pass protection. If you look at yesterday's game, most of the pressure came through the right side of our OL. It wasn't just McGlinchey, Burford/Brunskill and Brendel all deserve criticism. This past Niner draft was the first in a long time that addressed the OL. I think Burford will become a solid RG...but, Coach needs to let him take his lumps. Subbing Brunskill at that position isn't helping either Burford or the right side of the OL. Even though we won't have picks 'til the end of the 3rd rd, they should be the best C and OT on the board. They need to let McGlinchey venture into FA. He's not going to get better, and the OL needs someone at RT who can run block and effectively pass protect. Establishing a more solid OL should be paramount toward running a more consistent offense. Look at the Chiefs...after they got man-handled by the Bucs in the SB, Andy Reid fixed their OL via FA, trades and shrewd draft picks. There's no reason the Niners can't do the same thing...other than a reluctance of Shanalynch to do so. They've got to surround Lance with the kind of OL that'll give him a legit chance to succeed. That's their job.

Quite possibly the worst pass protector at RT in the league?

He was completely owned by whomever KC lined up on him yesterday.

There are times where McGlinchey makes you believe he can be a competent starting tackle in this league. But then he gets destroyed in pass protection in the biggest moments. Can't have that.

The team needs to let him walk. Draft a young OT with the first available pick next year and move on.

He wasn't 100%. He's not he greatest tackle but he injured that quad in the previous game and managed to get out there for a big game. I give him credit for that.

I'm still very confused by his injury. He smashes his knee cap on the turf but somehow he has a calf contusion???

What I saw was he was running up field and Juszczyk's knee smashed into MM's calf, and I only remembered this because I've had this happen to me and it sucks
It is games like yesterday that had me renaming him Mcs**tty. He was terrible all day yesterday but even in his good games he has one or two terrible plays that always come at the absolute worse times. Hence the Mcs**tty. I have typed it enough on my tablet that it comes up automatically when I type Mc.

Oh thanks! I just saw the kneecap hit the turf. I missed that part. Man, that must hurt like a b***h!

So you're saying he's anti-clutch?
