This. We wouldn't hav gone far if he didn't get hurt. I was pissed when we left Tom walk for this scrub.
0 Sacks given up

No sacks, but he was a bear hugging machine. He got lucky a few times, missed blocks and caught out of position... but the plays went away from him or were too quick for it to matter. If they could hit on drafting a true RT... convert him to the blocking TE role, his body just isnt meant for an NFL tackle and he doesnt have the anchor for it. Whats it been 5 years? And he is still talked about as the weakest link or second weakest link on a weekly basis.

Gonna be hard to find a plug-and-play OT at pick 97. Does McKivitz or Moore look like they are ready to take over at RT? No $$$ available to get a top tier OT in free agency.

I trust Burford at RT more next year with Brunskill or Poe at RG.

He had a bad game but the weird thing is that he seems better in pass pro this year while taking a step back in run blocking. Like that was his saving grace.

now I'm not saying he is good at pass pro, just less sh*tty lol. But his run blocking just doesn't look top tier this year and he's been tops in the league in that area. So now he's just like an Adam Snyder .

How did he have a bad game? Mack had no sacks against McG. He gave up no sacks all night. If he gives up no sacks every game wouldn't that be a great thing / great season?

He is definitely the weakest link on the o line

Yup. We have a very good o-line!
His PFF ratings have been improving. In his first couple of games, his PP rating was 58, which is "high replacement grade." It is now 63.0. His RBLK is also up a couple of points to above-average 73.5. That is a bit less than he has been in good years but ^^^.

As he and Burford get more used to each other, both of their grades should improve. However, Burford continues to struggle in RBLK. It hasn't helped McGlinchey to be working with a rookie who is struggling.

In recent games, Brunskill has been rotating with Burford. That has been better. Brunskill's PP/RBLK is 71/57 compared to Burford's 64/43.
So PFF has MM improving. Comical
Interesting stuff here folks.. ESPN list McG as our guy on the 'hotseat' however they also say the seat is 'lukewarm'

here is their blurb:

McGlinchey has had his struggles, most notably in a loss to Kansas City, but the 49ers still believe he's having a solid year. Among tackles, he ranks in the middle of the pack in ESPN Analytics' pass block win rate. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent after the season and though the Niners would like to bring him back, that's going to depend largely on how his market shakes out. That's hard to project right now, but solid offensive linemen usually do well on the open market. -- Nick Wagoner
everyone's hating on McGlinchey which is fair, but I'll give him some love lol. Without McGlinchey dominating Mack for 5-6 secs that Ray Ray pass wouldn't have happened.

Mack tries to go outside, Glinchey beats him then Mack tries to turn it and go inside and Glinchey beats him again. Now since Mack went inside and still got beat by Glinchey it opens up the outside for Jimmy G to scramble make the great throw to ray ray.

I love big Mike as a guy; cool dude. I really hope he plays a lot better. All I can say about his play is what I see with my own eyes, and he's playing bad, certainly not playing like a top ten pick, which is the measure from which his play should be judged, fair or not. It's not his fault we picked him so high. He played on a really good line at ND right to quenton nelson, maybe that made him look better. Maybe he's too tall, or needs to put on more muscle. I think the Niners want him back, and I can see why; serviceable starting tackles are in demand in this league. Too bad he don't play like a first rounder though. I think Mckivitz is ready to start next season in his place

Damn probably we would have scored. He didn't even have to block. Just stand there in his way.
