You mean 1st rounder MM standards ?

Yes. Imagine Kyle calling out Mike McGlinchey and the OL like he did with Bosa and the DL. It'll never happen. 2 different standards.
Oh thought you we're going towards where they were drafted

but how do you know they weren't called out, have they played better in previous years?

Kyle only talks about the OL if it catches his eye in a negative way. It's an assumption on my part but given the hyper focus on resources and pissing his #1 DL off to play at an even higher level, he doesn't give me the same impression the standards are quite the same with the OL. Haha.
What's the haha.. you can't even type that with a straight face Lol

plus, You wouldn't have known about Kyle and the DL if Bosa didn't leak out that info.

I know when the media questions Kyle about MM, he just shrugs it off. When the media asked if they'd sign his 5th year option he just laughed. I know MM's had to tell everyone they don't suck. Not the same standard.

Imagine being the #1 DL on the #1 defense and the DPOY ER and getting called out to play better.

Do you think Kyle has the same standards for both the OL and DL? I'm not saying he doesn't have standards for the OL...just not to the same level as the DL. Not even close.

PS: And I love his standards for the DL!

Kyle is really just a O.C

100% focused on offense.

Haha. Imagine a scrawny little ex-WR HC telling you, a DPOY leader, to play harder. LOL

True. If MM is coming out with this, it's either to tip us off to a possible resigning in the near future or...

Yet somehow fields a top 5 defense every year, despite losing his coordinators.

an eternity of mcglinchey getting tossed like a rag doll and getting our quarterbacks killed? This can't be what it means to be a 49er fan.

and before anyone does some arithmatic and thinks "5 sacks allowed" is ok in week 16, it's not. "sacks allowed" doesn't equate to total sacks given up by the team. all the other starters have "1 sack allowed".

you mean, "every year since we drafted ...."

MM has been a lot better in pass pro (basically holding) then he has been his whole career over the last month or so. Please just keep up the trend so we can win a SB and get a comp pick for you when some sucker of a team pays you 10-12 mil a year in FA.

Glinch ain't going nowhere.
Top 51 FAs of 2023 NFL.com has him #13 ahead of Daniel Jones and right behind Odell Beckham

He will have some very big offers if he chooses to go elsewhere. The FA market for OTs is minuscule. If he leaves, the only realistic option is Colton McKivitz who has played only 57 snaps this year. A lot of risk if Mc leaves.

The only other OT FA of any quality is Orlando Brown. He is just the flip of Mc - better PP, not as good RB.

Yup. My desire to let MM walk is because he has peaked and cap space. I could be wrong, but I'm thinking we can't keep him long term and guys like Jennings, Aiyuk, Greenlaw (he only has a two year extension), Mosely when he earns a bigger deal in 2024, etc.

If they can do all of the above and keep MM, go for it.

Strangely, that doesn't bother me
