One thought, TW floating it out there that he may retire, makes the club a lot more likely to resign McG. Hard to watch both OTs walk out the door.

One site has his market value at 4 years, $45M. He is ranked as the #8 RT in the league. That would fit right in where multiple other sites place him in both playing level and salary.

However, with so little FA quality this year, his number will likely get pushed much higher.

why can't we move colton mcvikitz to the right side?

That's probably the thinking. If that wasn't the case, 9ers would have worked out a deal with McGlinchy before he hit free agency.

Could be. Could also be that the team has zeroed in on someone through the draft. He may be a small school or Division II find. The 49ers have proven time and again that they can find all pro talent in the late rounds of the NFL draft.

They have a bunch of young O-line guys that they've drafted. They even started a rookie LG this season.

Can't get much worse than MM

There were roughly 40 RTs that had significant snaps this year. McGlinchey ranks in the top 8-10 on multiple sites.

I have penciled in Colton McKivitz as the starting RT next year. He was a 5th round pick, IIRC.

Glinch haters can rejoice. It appears that even he knows he won't be coming back.

I'm glad onsite isn't running our teams free agency or draft.

I don't remember much about McKivitz this year. How do you feel about him as a replacement? McGlinchy could be very frustrating at times but I remember seeing a lot of pretty bad right tackles this year.
When mcg leaves he be free to put on an extre 35 pounds and will finally pass block
Lurch ain't coming back so it seems, don't see Lynch over paying for him

If the goal is to upgrade over MM, CM ain't it.

I don't hate the guy by any means, but certainly want more out of the position. That being said, I'm nervous about letting him walk until I hear the plan to replace him.

The real question is when is his revenge game against us where he allows 0 pressures and sacks.
