It's so easy making comments like this looking backwards, isn't it? It's pretty much meaningless, because there is risk in every draft selection when you don't have the benefit of hindsight when making the pick, but it sure is easy saying we should have selected XXXX years AFTER the draft, right? But it doesn't work that way now does it? We are lucky to have Shanahan and Lynch.

The best part about drafting Pettis is that now Kyle knows not to draft guys like Pettis. Day 2 picks should require research into their personality and work ethic.

There's a reason why baltimore is competitive every year. Because they hit more than they miss on their draft picks. That's what well run organizations do. I want to seem more consistency from this regime. We have now had 3 s**tty years out of 4. Last year looks like a lucky year. Even rex grossman went to the superbowl. I want consistency. Let's see what the next two years brings.

They don't. They hit at the 35-40% range, which is generally the top marks for a GM.

All teams miss more than they hit. The key is to not dip below 30% hit rate.
