Dudes a super polished receiver with a lot of nuance to his gane, he has big time speed, nice leaping ability, he has the production to back up the traits, and he is the all-time leader for punt return tds. What's there not to like?

Add another 10 pounds and get stronger and he'll be a monster.

Good point about adding the 10 pounds. He's young and can still grow into the role.

3 inches taller, identical weight, and almost identical draft position as Mark Duper, who had an excellent career starting with year 2. I'm seriously smelling Shula/Marino's offense warming up. All Shula's wideouts, and he used them all, were short, quick, breakaway guys.

That was a beautiful offense. And to top it off, we will actually be able to run the ball as well.

So, big WRs can't get open?

Weren't Julio Jones (6'3" 220 lbs) and Mohamed Sanu (6'2" 210 lbs) Kyle Shanahan's WRs??

Julio Jones is a special top 5 talent. Shanahan wouldn't have drafted Sanu.

So, there you go, Julio Jones proves that you don't need to be skin and bones in order to get open and to play for Kyle Shanahan.

Or are you saying unless you are a top 5 talent, no big physical WRs can meet Shanahan's requirements?

You don't think Shanahan would take the Julio Jones/Mohamed Sanu WR tandem over any of our WR combos?

I don't know about you, I would take Julio Jones and Sanu over any of our WRs any day!! If you have two equally skilled WRs, surely you would take the bigger guy right? Give you an example, if I can pick between Julio Jones or OBJ, I would take Julio Jones any day and is not even close!!

A Julio Jones caliber player wasn't in this draft.

Dudes like Julio Jones don't come around every yr lol...kyle has even stated he'd take a Julio Jones all day every day but he's a "generational" talent at WR.

Let's be realistic people smh. Most "big" WRs aren't elite route runners and most don't have 4.4 speed like Jones has...if they do they got top 5 in the draft.
Great competition at WR! I think our STs just got whole lot better too

This was a good pick. I wasn't thrilled we had to move up for him but you can be assured Lynch and co had intel that another team before us was eyeing him as well.

This kid is a player and is going to be a real offensive weapon for Kyle Shanahan. In the slot, down the field, on reverses, in the red zone...He's going to be a better, more polished Ted Ginn IMO and obviously he's going to be a major factor as a return man. He runs really good routes and thats obviously a must in Kyle's offense. I really wanted Anthony Miller but Pettis is going to be a real solid, versatile weapon and player for us IMO. Right away to I think he will help.

Chris Petersen is a great offensive coach and absolutely raves about Pettis who started at WR since mid-way his freshman year. His route running is I think what Kyle loved most about him but he is a versatile all-around weapon and he's also going to help in the redzone, watch. He's going to be a real weapon for us. Good pick, good player. Real high character to.

Individually he might add value to ur pass attack and punt returns. Problem is our d is below average in many areas. And we had a chance to address these weaknesses but chose to enhance our mediocre receiving corps instead. So not sure that was the priority. Id rather have 6 more team sacks and 10 more hurries than last year than a 11 yard punt return average and an extra punt return td.

I favored a defensive draft, but honestly, let's be real, the pass rushers were not there and we have known this for months. Also, this team was not going to be made in one season. We saw how much better our defense looked with the insertion of Jimmy G. Perhaps they can hang out middle of the pack for the duration of the season if we are putting up 25+ a game and are a top-10 offense. Keep in mind Orokonkwo and Holland are still available. The fact that we could potentially get both is enticing. Throw in a corner and I'm good.

Exactly. I'm tired of this let's get a big bodied receiver talk just for the sake of having a big bodied receiver. That isn't how this offense works. KS is VERY committed to getting the type of guys he wants. I'm hoping today we throw Saleh a couple of bones.

Some great hands there!

Very nice hands! I'm impressed with his feet and hands, this guy is something else in the slippery department. Very hard to take down. Wow.

Very true about the pass rushers. After Chubb and possibly one other, it wasn't a very strong edge rusher draft. Also Pita and Attauchu probably factored into the calculations. I'm betting Pita and Attaucho shine well in the pre-season if ShanaLynch doesn't get Obo and goes offense again in day 3. I'm actually thinking he'll go guard or center with the final picks.
I said this after last offseason...any offensive pick I'm going to trust Kyle. Wasn't sure about McGlinchey but when we moved Trent it made all the sense in the world.

Pettis is legit and while I wouldn't have moved up for him with the depth at WR in this class I think we did it more due to his special teams abilities. And once again...trusting Kyle on this. Pettis is legit so if they think they couldn't have landed him at 59 then who am i to argue.
Our o is becoming more and more impossible to stop. This o with Jimmy G throwing it will be mostly predicated on fast, burner routes into tight windows. Jerry Rice was neither big nor a super fast runner and were'd that get us?.Haha. Pettit tore games up. East coast pundits didn't watch him play. Watch the Philm guys. With He and Jerrick and Goodwin blasting off of the line from everywhere , this league in trouble. Nevermind Garcon and the TE's.Add in a qb that can throw beautiful touch passes or15 yard darts through 2 foot windows and forget about it. The Rams will need 12 men on the field to hold JimmyJesus under like 30 points
This guy has quick wicked feet. I don't know enough about him to know how good his route running skill, but having those quick feet would definitely help. He looks slight with his frame. But I remember vaguely that John Taylor played under 200lbs, so I looked him up— JT is 6'1, played at 185lbs, yet he was one of the strongest WR on the team. Different era of football but there's no way you can tell me Pettis can't play WR inside or out at 186lbs when JT played in an era where WR were being mauled all through their route progression

One of the best and most polished route runners in the draft. That's why I think Kyle really wanted him.

marvin harrison was 6 foot and 180 lbs as well...speed, route running equals separation. Throw in is top end vision and a accurate qb like JG. We will see some things happen.

Look at this speed:

Goodwin 4.27
Pettis 4.39
McKinnon 4.41
garcon 4.48
