No need with Teddy and Hill.

I'm not going to hold out hope considering how first two games went but I'm still hoping Pettis breaks out for us.
Would be a masterful job of coaching if Kyle basically featured a different guy each game.
Kittle was clearly the focus week 1. Cinci went all out to defend him and paid the price. Deebo stepped up week 2. We'll see if Pettis finally makes his presence felt in the receiving game vs the Steelers. I feel like their guys are definitely susceptible to the type of moves he provides.
But as fun as it is to point to stats of our players and say they're better than player X...end of the day just win and I don't care who's got what stats.

Dante Pettis plays for the 49ers?
Didn't notice.
Thought he was traded for a bag of balls.

All of our WRs do a good job of run blocking.

Pretty sure he was drafted to do more than block although that is helpful.
Just a note: I was really excited about Pettis but if he cannot get on field ( Week 1) or get open for a pass (Week 2) in his second year in a mediocre WR corp with two guys out due to injury, he is wasting his abilities; that is on him and that is sad.

Maybe he is a secret weapon in one of the games coming up.

it's strange since he was getting open on a regular basis last season. IDK wtf is going on with him.

Lol nobody wants CJ. Why do people keep thinking that? Mullens? Maybe.

You could hide him within a better deal. Sort of like the bills that go through the senate.

Agreed. He did show promise and before camp and I would suggest most thought he would be on the field as 1 or 2 WR. Wondering if something was brewing even before the draft. We took a WR at R2 and R3. If you were that confident in Pettis, would you have done that?

Sounds like he showed up to training camp out of shape, and that put him in Shanahan's dog house from the onset.

I don't understand young players that are on the brink of being a starter that show up out of shape. WTF are you doing in the off season. This isn't some prima donna wide receiver like Brown or Beckham that has a big contract and doesn't need more money. He has a chance to become a highly paid player and shows up out of shape? Maybe he's just one of those guys that is athletically gifted but doesn't have the mindset to play at that level. Too bad.

If he wants to be great -- then this will end up just being a brain fart and a "welcome to the NFL moment". If he doesn't -- he will wade away. Year 3 will be very telling.

he had 35 snaps this last game, so he's working his way out of the doghouse it seems. now get open!
