Pettis was used on a ton of decoy plays. He certainly got some playing time yesterday, just not necessarily the targets. We rotated everyone in. I saw all active receivers get a lot of snaps.

Pettis has all the Talent, probably more talented than DeeBo, but it just looks like DeeBo really wants it more than Pettis, from how they both play.

With Taylor and Hurd comming back, if he doesnt step his game up, he could be the odd kitty out.
the homer in me says maybe this guy is being kept as a secret weapon?!

the realist in me says, bust.

If any WR gets deactivated it'll be Bourne, who barely squeaked onto the roster. Pettis offers more value because Kyle likes to use him in a lot more ways, plus there's also the fact that he's the backup punt returner. Also has better hands and gets better separation than KB.

Was wondering why his only highlight was his trick play, Deebo is killin it out there tho

I'm thinking [probably wrong] that it is his attitude.

Pettis should be our emergency 3rd string QB. Maybe the Saints want CJ now that Brees is getting surgery.

People need to stop with this. No one is trading for Beathard. If we cut him, I would be shocked if he ends up anywhere other than some team's practice squad.

Can someone link to an article that says that Pettis came to training camp out of shape. I don't remember reading anything about that so I did a Google search and could not find anything. I get the questions about his attitude, but I'm perplexed about these "out of shape" comments.

It was mentioned on the game broadcast against the Bengals. First I had ever heard of it also.
The sophomore slump is real. But JFC he played well at the end of last year and has been open plenty of times this season but just not targeted. Obviously we want the stats to go with it but I guess we should of canned Witherspoon too or Moore for giving up TDs playing out of position or Armstead who has become solid or Jeff Wilson with his fumbleitis or Richburg for playing sub par with injuries or our guards who seemed below average even though they are killing it this year , just throw in the entire O-line after the Denver preseason game or Richie James for not having a rookie impact. F*ck it should of scrapped the whole team last year and started fresh.

This culture of immediate gratification is hilarious, we couldn't even field a complete team if the half the zone had its way but at least we would have Demontre.

Nice blocks down the field by Pettis and Goodwin to free Mostert for the TD on this play.

It was an announcer talking out of his ass. The average zoner is way more knowledgeable about this team than an announcer. If you pay attention the color guy will often say weird not quite correct things about us.

I dont know what is going on with Pettis but I'm pretty certain it has nothing to do with him being out of shape. If it was Barrows or Maiocco woulda reported it.

He very obviously got it from Shanahan in the pre-game prep.

That's possible but it isnt "very obvious". Shannahan has been a straight shooter since he's been here and we havent heard one word about Pettis being out of shape. But now Shannahan spills the beans to the announcing crew before a game. I doubt that.
