No one, including myself, disagrees with these being growing pains. But growing pains = inconsistent play. None of this that you wrote disproves my claim that CURRENTLY, this 49er WR corps is at or near the bottom of the NFL. I was talking about the present, which you tried to refute by speaking of the future. I dont disagree with anything you wrote about the future. But your posts have absolutely nothing to do with the now, which is what the conversation was about.

Actually, Helmet, i agree with Furlow. Nice post Furlow. There is no question our WRs can play better. But with a very small percentage of targets, and complex routes...including reads...i agree. Still, the drops just kill us. Also, it looks like all WRs would benefit wth more time, maybe extra time spent 1 on 1 with Jimmy. A lot of this could just be too few repetitions, and no where near enough practice. Problem with that is time. JG has to spend time with entire O . But extracurricular practice with WRs, one at a time and Jimmy, might just improve the drops issue. Some of that is not being on the same page.
Admittedly that is the stuff for TC, PS, and so on. Right now it looks like QB and WRs who are not familiar with one another. OTOH, guys like Kittle, Au jus, Brieda, TT when healthy....they are on the same page with JG and it looks like it, too.

Like all of us. We all watch and care more about our teams and we forget that every team has most of the same issues like too many injuries or too many penalties. Every team seems to have at least one area of weakness. We see our team every play each week so we are way more aware of our problems.

Right. The topic was about the now. And in the now, our WRs leave a ton to be desired. Doesnt mean they wont be good or they wont develop into reliable players even as soon as later on this season. But right now we have:
Deebo: inconsistent and having drop issues
Goodwin: disappears at times
Hurd: may not play this season
Bourne: ok as a #4 who has made some plays this season
RJJ: Doesnt play much. Seems to make 1 big play everytime he gets snaps, but doesnt play much
Taylor: hurt and who knows what we will get out of him
That is the now. This could easily change later in the year, next year, the year after, etc. The raw talent is there.

Legit concerns:
Deebo: inconsistent, concentration, pace of picking up the offense and many soft tissue injuries
Goodwin: deep speed never used, tons of concussions, oft-injured
Hurd: oft-injured and style of play lends itself to more and raw
Bourne: men in everything but good team guy
RJJ: Kyle won't play him much, goes down in first contact
Taylor: oft-injured, no deep speed, one-dimensional
Pettis: weak mentality, not a dog, inconsistent, complacent
