Geez, Pettis isn't going anywhere. The only people that might get traded are Solly, Mullens, or CJ. Gun to my head, I'd bet that we don't trade away anybody.

Yes, lol. Who needs him right now more than we do?

We do? Can't live without his 9 catches for 83 yards in 6 games even with Sanders now here and expected to play "a lot?" Hmmm

It's a good balance. But I have no personal narrative here other than following the evidence to this point in time and not dismissing the possibility of where this could go (not being willing to accept that is the 'blind' part)...not just giving him the "give him more time" narrative simply because he's ours.
I mean you kinda created the personal narrative with the comments you've made about Pettis for a while now. That's not me saying you're wrong or anything just that there's a reason people are saying that to you.
It's officially day 50 of me having to tell people to have patience with these young players. He's got 11 career starts and people want to dump him or think he's actually a trade prospect? come on meow. Kid ha 17 targets this yr, kinda hard to put up awesome stats with SF not throwing the ball overall.
This isn't fantasy football, the front office and coaching staff have time/capital/money invested into him.
Exactly, thanks for saving me some typing. Love ya NC, but man you get on a tear sometimes, lol. You look at a box score, or stat, take it out of context, and run with it like a scalded dog. Still though, never said you couldn't have your opinion.

If he gets traded, then I trust Kyle's evaluation of him. It sucks because he was a high second rounder, but I also respect the fact that they're willing to cut bait when a player doesn't fit in with their philosophy.

That doesn't totally apply to Pettis though because he's had the most snaps and primarily plays the feature WR position. If it was the slot of even Z, yes...and no need for Sanders IF Pettis was producing at anywhere close to what Kyle needs right now. And what he needs is an outside WR who can compliment Kittle in the middle. We potentially have that now.

This. 100%.
And the better this team gets, the more tough decisions you'll see. We're no longer playing a 16 game pre season.

Almost agree with you. Mullens is going exactly nowhere. Now that we have some excitement about potentially winning 4-5 more and in Playoffs, no way is Kyle going go get rid of the one guy who if injured ....has to have a somewhat "Like" substitute. And Mullie has proven he can QB the team, run it and score with it.
Just no way kyle is going to leave himself unprotected for a 2-4 week injury to JG...hammy, high ankle, you know the rest. All this will be for naught if we have no one who can seamlessly move in and take over. So perhaps another yr, but this yr ...not. Also i don't think Solly goes based on what Arik decides to do at yrs end. If he re-signs, then maybe. But until then, no.

Yes, we do. We have guys on IR, and no one better. He's had 17 targets this year, until Sanders got here, he was the best wide receiver on the team. Now he is the second best wide receiver on the team, struggles or not. Nobody else has been burning it up in that squad. All you guys complaining about the receivers aren't even taking into account how few passing plays we have run this year. You all are just looking at stat lines and comparing them to guys who play on pass happy teams, and getting your panties twisted. Never mind the context of the situation. Kyle said it himself, with the defense we have, the best way for us to lose is to turn it over. We are not going to be one of those pass happy teams unless it becomes necessary, and it hasn't been, and we lead the league in time of possession...by design. It's called complimentary football, pretty basic stuff. Run the ball. play defense, win games. I don't know why anyone would willfully ignore one of the oldest, and proven tenets of the game.

Just remember, I said IMHO, there's a 75% we retain him. My stance here is that this IS a real possibility and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was part of a package deal...like Thomas, Mullens, Goodwin, James, etc.
Man, when's the last time you saw multiple players from one team get traded at the October trade deadline lol? Like I keep saying this isn't fantasy football
It's a trading league now, son. All the crusty GM's are gone. All the young GM's are going full Madden.

Why have NFL trades increased?

But yeah...it would be like many others: player plus draft pick for a higher draft pick.
No I get players are getting moved more so then ever, I still haven't seen a team moved multiple players to one team in one deal.
Just doesn't happen

Multiple players? Oh, for sure...don't think that's what the package deal meant though. But for sure!

LOL, they're saying plenty of stuff in Denver right now and Sanders is very low on the list.
