IF he's using him as a gunner, then Shanny truly is clueless of how to do this... it only means he still wants to hold on to him ??

if he likes him this much why not get him the ball the way he design plays for Bourne - McKinney and uhmmm KITTLE ??

He's not saying he would use Pettis as a gunner.

But, last week solely had to do with I was trying to get up some more special teams players for gunner and things like that with some of our corners being down. We've got a few guys who can return punts and kicks on our team, so that's been his main role right now this year and we had to go another way with that.

Does anyone here think the only reason Pettis is still here this year because Shanahan knows he will end up in Seattle or the Rams and will spill the playbook to them?

There is no logical reason for Pettis to be on this team still.

I don't believe he holds any trade value , so they will just keep him on the roster until years end. They need bodies.

I doubt that Pettis has much trade value at this point but since he's not really contributing they might as well unload him if they could get a 6th or 7th.
