I think it's amicable at this point. He doesn't want to play for the Niners, and Kyle don't care if he does or not.

Someone is going to want this. Let's not pretend like Pettis is AJ Jenkins. The fact that it didn't work out here doesn't preclude him from getting opportunities elsewhere. I could see Pettis having success with a team like the Steelers or Seahawks that actually vertically utilize their WRs.

Hey ship him out. I keep saying he ends up in Seattle but I don't see SF trading with them.

I think why they don't release Pettis outright is because they know that Seattle would pick him up. We still play Seattle 2 times this year. Shanahan doesn't want Pettis to share the playbook with Seattle.

This is the same dude that on his very first game, was close to breaking all time 49er rookie WR records.
Dude has some talent. He is either lazy or not a good fit here. He is worth something and the 9er brass knows it. Thats why you dont just let him go.
