This is the definition of cooking DBs
You're entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts. Pettis needs to go to an offense that pushes the ball down the field. That's why Seattle is a perfect fit. I envision he'll do a lot of this in that type of offense
Great post. Our coaching staff and a lot of posters in this thread should be embarrassed after watching these clips.....dude is talented.
I understand not making him a feature or even a number 2. But, they have completely shaded this dude and kept him off the field. Its unreal, and unexplainable.
I think it might have to do with two factors apart from Kyle just being weird. One, Jimmy just isn't that good at throwing accurate deep balls down the side line. Second, Pettis probably isn't a very good blocker. Kyle likes deception and wants to be able to run or throw with the same personnel. This is not what Pettis does.
Overall, him being traded is a really good thing for both parties. Pettis is too talented to rot behind guys like Kendrick "oops I dropped it again" Bourn, and the Niners could use the roster spot.
1. No one should be embarrassed except for Pettis. He had golden opportunities and blew them. It is clear he had a bad attitude to training and studying plays. This has been stated by Kyle over and over and more then enough opportunities have been given to Pettis to lift his game but he hasn't.
2. It is not unreal and unexplainable. It is Pettis not taking multiple hints to change his attitude and lift his game.
3. There you go bad mouthing Jimmy G again. You just cannot help yourself. Pettis was not at where he was meant to be and JG did not overthrow anything. What you do not understand, or turn a blind eye to, is that for long throws the QB has lead the ball to where the receiver is meant to be. IE he has to guess where the receiver is going to be a few seconds after he throws the ball. This is what they practice and JG leads by throwing the ball to the spot where the receiver was in practice for the play during the week. With Pettis not running his routes properly he does not get to where he is meant to be on time. Makes the QB look bad but the blame is on the receiver. The coaches know this. You obviously do not.
Point #1 you nailed it. Pettis has only himself to blame. Lol this is not on the coaching staff at all. This is solely on the player. If he's not seeing the field then I'm quite sure he's not performing well enough in practice to merit PT.
JFC hold the player accountable. Who gives a fk what he did in college. Gotta look beyond the tape and really study the player's character.
From all the camps that I have been too and watched.. Pettis is your classic role player that doesn't want to put in that extra hard mental work. His body language was telling.
Fk even my brother in law who is a big time HS coach called it out last summer "Pettis doesn't seem like he wants to own it out here"
This is solely on a guy who may just have too much going on upstairs and it's cramping him on the field.
