Yeah, they're nothing alike.
Charles Johnson was my comp for Street.

Yeah, they're nothing alike.

Both injured, both played Dline, both are very strong, both taken by us. Yeah nothing alike
The only reason I hate this pick is because of the ACL, otherwise, he's a decent prospect. Just don't like us throwing a 4th rounder down on an ACL guy who wasn't a 2nd or 1st round talent.

Here's a nice little thread full of clips

Agreed...I think he's a good football player (not a true edge guy) but the ACL gonna just gave me a bad flashback lol

Lol I mean those are very broad parameters to be saying they're a like. Tank didn't move around like that at FSU.

That's like saying every big white WR is Jordy Nelson

I just hate these ACL picks and will never support them from any GM. Too much risk involved and it has a very low chance of turning into success stories.

This is the only Lynch pick that I question over the last two drafts. Hopefully it works out.

Gore had two ACL injuries, although he played his final season. Turned out to be a solid pick. What it comes down to is who are our medical evaluators? Are they still the same ones that were in the Baalke years?

Lattimore was the other spectrum, he even told the niners that he didn't he could and that his medical consultants didn't think he would be able to. The problem with Tank was also his being misused and not a fit, forced to change. Plus the DC kept changing. These guys are athletes, but can't help think how some are misused hurts them more.

I think we all get hooked on names we are familiar with. I was surprised, but maybe they didn't think the others had what it takes? Sweat-tremendous athlete, traits that you would want, but his production does not match 14.5 in three years. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo has slightly better numbers, but I guess he does not have the physical traits the niners want? I guess they are banking on his freakish athleticism. Doing the stash thing. I am okay with this pick, but thought could have something better. The only thing + right now is that he begins on injured reserved and turns good, the niners will have him for 4 years instead of 3 + the option.

I think it is a question Lynch has to be asked what they did not like about them. Lynch did say they were not drafting to be popular. I think they should have gambled on players that had production even if it is from a small school.

Physically different. Tank was 2 inches taller and 20 pounds lighter. Force to change and add 20-25 lbs, not his natural. Plus they kept changing what he had to do.

Tank is no where as strong as Street.

I disagree with you there, NY. He's definitely a true edge player--a strongside edge with twitch and power. He's not in the mold of a "leo," but he's absolutely an edge guy. Again, see Charles Johnson. Street is his doppelganger.

My favorite rush from Street rush that I saw on tape. Two-hand swipe ala Carl Lawson. The patience and timing here is awesome, and then Street shows off his ability to flatten once he's softened the corner.

I got no problem being wrong with that. I guess i should have said true LEO.

Charles Johnson was a lot longer then Street but I see a similarity to their game. Not gonna know for another yr
