Why is it a reach? Cause a couple people said so, apparently some other teams were high on him as a early day 3 pick. SF had a low 5th after that 4th and probably though he wouldn't be around so the got him. I don't hate the prospect just don't think they're in a spot to red shirt guys.

i know. i was wrong. i was just saying with the fourth pick we could have found someone at any spot that may have helped us this year. despite what some feel. we do need help in many areas this year if we are to win any more than 8 games cuz that is what i see this team at night. maybe 9.

Ah, ok, glad that's cleared up.

Yeah, they could have drafted someone that had a chance to help this year. If Street doesn't pan out it'll be an especially bad pick. It'll sting a lot less if they have a good season this year, though. Then if he contributes next year, I'll be pretty happy.

Yes, it was stupid pick, he certainly would have been available in rd 5. Could have traded back a little and picked up pick in 2019

Does anyone know if his contract 'tolls' for an extra year?
ie. Does he get paid this year on IR then get an additional 4 year contract after this year?

Not sure how that works either, but unless they changed the rules. He will technically be a niner till 2022 instead of 21.

It counts as a year of his contract. Only time it doesn't count is suspensions like Martavis Bryant.
