Man, we have to wait a year for this guy? He's got better physical numbers than Donald. Where does he fit on the DL?

didn't know that. impressive
chance we get to see him by the end of the season ? (going off Shermans injury)

I doubt it...really no reason to with who we currently have. Might as well give him as much time as needed.
even if he ends up healthy to play ?

Sherman tore his Achilles. Street tore his ACL. Big difference so you can't go off of his injury timeframe. Long story short, don't hold your breath cause he's not playing this season

Dude is very twitchy.

And strong. Very, very strong.

Only gonna get stronger working on upper body as lower body heals

He has some Justin Smith stuff, tape dont lie. Dudes a freak. See the article me and NY posted. From SI, pics and everything to justify body/freaky ability and tape to go with it imo.

Agree. Edge rusher, Guard, or TE/Fullback would have been what I'd have looked at in place of Streets. Still, if (big if) he pans out, he's going to be a solid DT in Saleh's system and might really do well if all goes according to the doctor's plans. (yeah right )

Only two DEs, one guard and one TE went before our next pick. Besides Sweat, can you make a case for any of the other 3 players being a better pro than Street?

Anybody who doesn't have a season ending injury and can play this year? As freaky as he is, that's him prior to his workout injury. Absolutely no guarantee that he'll be that way again. I hope he recovers, even without speed, that strength will help either at Big End or NT in the Saleh System.
Street might be a replacement for Armstead in 2019 or 2020 -- key word is "might" -- and that will depend on a couple factors:

1) AA's performance
2) Whether Street makes a full recovery from the ACL injury.

Yeah we're talking about a day 3 pick though...go look at some of the guys drafted after him before our next pick. Sweat was really the only other intriguing guy and he's got bone on bone knee issues. Kid might not even finish out his rookie contract (reason he dropped to the 4th) throw in film that wasn't amazing and eh..health is an issue for him as well.

I'm fine taking a upside long-term prospect in day 3. When you start throwing down top 64 picks on a ACL guy that's a little different.

Ok, who would play this year and why? Let's drop the hypotheticals, and tell me who is cracking the lineup and who are they beating out, and are they active on game day, and who isn't just because we drafted them at 128?

If you don't know, then you gotta trust the coaches who do right?

i thought they had the same injury.
He's going to be a player come 2019, I like this kid, and the pick, he could have been a day 2 pick had he not tore his ACL in a private workout.

My only one is Ogbonnia Ororonkwo, I might be wrong on him but Lynch summed up my thoughts when talking about DJ Reed.

"He's short, but he's got long arms which make up for it, he can play outside".

I think that applies completely to Obo, I hope I'm wrong or it would suck watching him smash it for the Rams
They said they see Street as DT, Big DE. They are stashing him for next year. As far as picking someone who will play this year at his position that was available. Hard to say until they get reps. A player that succeeds on one team can end up failing on another because of opportunity and scheme fit and vice versa. Aldon Smith was eased into it his first year. There is no absolute that people will or won't succeed.

Almost everything I read or heard about him had him rated exactly around where we drafted him without the injury. He did have an outstanding Shrine week/game though so you could be right, we'll never know

He was but then the rumblings were he could sneak into the 2nd and I think he could've easily especially at the very end of round two. If not could see top of 3rd.

I'm happy with the pick/gamble.. Could pay off huge and we could afford to do so cause our DL is already solid IMO. Excited for the group as a whole, huge years for AA,Mitchell and Blair.

I was not happy with the pick, but now that it's done - I hope he comes back stronger than before and makes the rotation come '19.
