too lazy to do a search, but was there any other DE/EDGE that was available??

No way would Street have been available in the 6th or 7th round. It was pick him with that late 4th round pick or risk losing him. Someone already stated that the Falcons were trying to package picks together to get into the 5th round to pick him. I'm keeping the faith with this front office because they've shown early on that they have an eye for talent.
That's news to me. Link?

Peter king actually said there was two teams interested in him In the 4th (ATL/NO) so no we couldn't have waited until the end of the draft like you're saying

Both teams were smart enough to pass on him in the 4th round.

Or one of those teams could have tried to trade up into the end of the 4th and picked Street, this is getting ridiculous with the way people keep winning and complaining about picks, yet you haven't seen them play a down yet. Everyone is ready to call Street, Pettis and every other pick a reach or bust. It's getting annoying to be honest, people need to chill out, and realize that not every big name guy people loved will turn out to be who they thought they'd end up being.

Loved Kevin as a player, but his career was short-lived because of his injuries.

He was going to be a high first-round pick in 1986, the latest in a long line of brilliant UM defensive linemen, until Tennessee running back William Howard chop-blocked him while he was tied up at the line of scrimmage in the first quarter of the Sugar Bowl.

f*gan accused Vols coach Johnny Majors of ``setting the whole thing up. We were 10 plays into the game and I had a sack and a couple of tackles. It was just a vicious play and totally unnecessary.``

The hit left him with massive knee damage, but the 49ers took him in the fourth round with no plans to play him until 1987.
But while running late in the 1986 season, he fractured the kneecap and it took another four operations to get it right.

Why do you add "j/k" after a post that was obviously not a joke?

Very true, you wonder why people called 49er fans "Whinners". Now I understand why, shows a lot in this forum. Everybody needs to just chill, relax, enjoy and trust the rebuilding process. Rome wasn't built in a day, and we're definitely not one player away from winning SBs.

I just hate drafting damaged goods. I don't want to have to wait for someone to go through rehab and hope he's the same player as before. It's risky and I don't like it.

Did you read the article? Both teams had a pick in the 4th round ahead of the 49ers both teams passed. That's all that we know for sure, they clearly didn't value him at their respective 4th round selections. If you can't see the 49ers did a lot of reaching in the 2018 draft I don't know what to tell you Not whining or complaining.

You are correct my friend.

Well actually we could afford to stash a player if you look at guys who could be off the roster after this upcoming year. AA,Mitchell,Blair. 2 are starters currently. With the gems we've found elsewhere and hopefully add to that list, I'm more than okay with a 4th on a possible future starter.
