He drafted the highest rated (by the experts) RB in the draft (Hyde), the highest rated Center in the draft (Martin), and the highest rathed guard in the draft (Thomas) and was praised for still getting Ellington in the 4th which was praised by the "experts" as a great value pick.

I agree with you that Lynch and Shanahan don't seem to go for value but rather seem to target a player and take him regardless of what happened before that pick and who is still available. Only time will tell if that is a bad thing.

As Phoenix stated this FO from what little we've seen seems to value scheme fit, football character, athletic ability etc. Baalke was all about value regardless of scheme fit (and like long arms lol).

Heard the parties are low key...im looking forward to throwing a few until we can rage next year. They're not like the ones Aldon and delanie used to throw that's for sure.
