Well OK.....I have a difference of opinion with many of you...

For those of you old enough to recall, the Niners drafted an OG in the 11th round in 1983 named Jesse Sapolu. He missed almost 3 full seasons in his first 4 years in the NFL with a foot injury, and in fact, didn't even start a game until 1991, when he was almost 30 years old. Well, he won 4 Super Bowl rings and went to the Pro Bowl twice. He also switched positions midway through his career (to center from OG).
Now...I'm not saying Street will have a career like that but...I will say that it sometimes pays off to be patient with a talented player (Jimmie Ward comes to mind as well). Let's just give Street a full year of health before we put him on the scrap heap, shall we?
He probably would have been a low first round pick (or high second) if he hadn't torn his ACL on his Pro Day, right before the draft 2 years ago. The man has talent. The team obviously likes him or they would have cut him already. Now that Buck is gone (sadly), Street might be a guy that could really help the team.

Cheers!
Two other players with similar stories, Kevin F*agan and Michael Carter. I hope Street's story is along the same trajectory! 👍👌😁

I was just going to say I'd compare him for to Kevin f*gan (The U), as a damage GOOD... he and PIERCE HOLT were the most underrated DT tandem when they were playing..

TY for that!

Pierce was one of the oldest rookies I've ever seen on the team. Big gamble by walsh as he really didn't play a lot of football, he played more of a shotputter in college. He's another small school diamond in the rough that Walsh hit on. The dude was uncanny in spotting small school talent.

Looking forward to seeing Street play against AZ. Last year AZ really ran well over us. Hope Street can put a stop to that stuff.

I'd like to see lots of tackle-end stunts with these guys. They have the quickness and explosion to do it big time against Midget #2. I wish we could play KC with *all* our healthy starters, in last years super bowl. I'm pretty confident with everybody healthy, we would have had #6 Lombardi.

If he's active, that is.

I'm fine if the others are active vs Street in the AZ game. Knowing how stuff will play out, he'll play sooner or later. I just want this defense to crush the AZ run game.

I'd really like to see this guy destroy a few pockets, but in the limited time I've seen him he has looked very, very slow. I'm hoping it's the injury.

Why would he be inactive ? They say he's officially moved into the rotation and he can actually come off the edge if needed

My guess is

AA/Jones/Thomas/Bosa
Ford/Kinlaw/Street/Hyder

I'm thinking he just got a couple of plays and he's still thinking. It takes, I'm sure, a couple of reps to be more instinctive and confident in what you are doing. I am really looking for our Interior DLinemen to do better than how they did last year against AZ.
