Oh look, NCommand favorite Ruiz got beat which led to Brees getting hurt.

Gotta laugh when some Saint fans on Reddit are saying the 49ers are a dirty team. Like what u talkin bout. The Ward hit was pretty f**ked I'll get em that. But they are saying it about the Street hit. To their credit there are fans saying naw it was a legal hit but it did rough the QB up

lol as if the "bountygate" Saints can talk about dirty teams. Karma is still paying them back for that BS with all the times they've been screwed in the postseason.

Time for Brees to retire. This is the type of abuse that QB's used to take all the time, which is why they would retire at 35. Not be untouchable and rack up inflated numbers playing into their mid-40's.

The new rule is going to involve asking the QB how bad the hit hurt in order to determine the level of fine. Brees will always say "11 out of 10 id say."

This. In any other era, Brees and Brady would've bought the farm 5-6 years ago.

Unfortunately I feel like QBs playing until 45 will become the norm with the way these guys are coddled.

That's not unfortunate. If the 49ers ever find a guy as good as Brees or Brady, I sure as hell want them playing to 45.

I guarantee guys like Young and Montana are watching the modern game and wringing their hands over how much better the QB's of 2020 have it. How many SB's would Joe have won if he was protected his entire career? Imagine him playing into the early 00's at a high level.

LOL.

TBF, he's not a RG. He's a C learning to play RG.

The defense rests.

This was a bullschidt call all the way....but it was in the New Orleans dome and Street deserves a pat on the back for not squishing Brees like a cardboard box with a refrigerator falling on it. B.S. and if Goodell had even 1 nut and 1 ounce of guts he would rescind this obvious fantastic tackle that was made without trying to injure the QB. B.S. B.S Unfortunately, Goodell doesn't have the guts to do the right thing here. What a gutless sissy. This is his job...to make sure somebody or some team doesn't get screwed. Ok the team got screwed . But after review the least gutless Roger could do was to correct the wrong in the call and penalty on Street.

Failing that, either Jed, Saleh, JL, Kyle ...or all the above should cover the fine. It is just blatantly an error...or bad mistake. C'mon Rog, do the right thing for a change.

Well, time for retraction. The NFL powers that be, Goodell included, did DO THE RIGHT THING. They obviously saw Street dip his shoulder so his entire weight wouldn't crush Brees.

Like all other fans, i hate to see a great player get injured. Bad as Giants are, who didn't enjoy watching Saquon? Without him the NYG are unwatchable. Without Brees, the Saints just aren't as fun to watch. Without 49 players who started at one time this yr for the 49ers, they aren't fun to watch either. (Unless you really like D). So while i will miss seeing Brees/Payton work their magic, i salute the NFL for doing the right thing re: Street and putting the kibash on his fine. The kid just made a great play and tried not to squish Brees when they were going down.

The play itself was a thing of beauty. Street just bullrushed, overpowered, and went for the QB. Amazingly he managed to keep from squishing him on the way down. The fact some ribs were broken and a lung punctured...we all hate to see that. But kudos to Street who did his best to make the tackle and then tried not to fall directly on Brees as we have seen happen to both JG and Mullie.

Great decision by the NFL. I'm actually looking forward to see T Hill play QB for an extended time. Can he actually throw accurately when it's 3rd and 10 ?
