I'm with you on the rarity of recovering from these injuries and becoming a good player in the NFL. Kevin f*gan was an interesting pick. He was picked around the 4th round (same as Kentavius) and it took him a whole year before he was on the field, and then about a year after that, he developed into a very good DE for us. For us, it worked out, and same with Frank Gore, and again, they are rare. The more common result is Marcus Lattimore. Point is if we are *lucky* it's a good pick. I get the fact that the pick is probably a loser pick (more like Marucus Lattimore) but having said that - I'm optimistic about it rather than pessimistic, because there *is* a possibility that Kentavius can become a good player for us, that's what I choose to look at. Still disappointed we didn't get Obo though.

"Bradley Chubb is the Wolfpack D-lineman that will get most of the attention in Indy—and he is a special talent bound for the first round—but Street is the biggest Freak. Street is expected to weigh in at 6'2" and around 285 pounds, and don't be surprised if he's clocked in the 4.5s in the 40-yard dash. At 281 pounds last year, he ran an electronically timed 4.58, vertical jumped 40 inches, benched 475 pounds and squatted 700. He's also the most flexible guy in the NC State program according to strength coach Dantonio Burnette. "It's almost like a big receiver," says Yo Murphy, a former NFL wideout who has helped train Street for the combine over the past two months. "He can stay in the drive phase so long."

He'll have a year to rehab and, gasp, get stronger.

It does look like he's got good burst. But, he looks a bit stiff going laterally - kind of top heavy. I wonder if they ask him to drop some mass for better movement.

Top heavy but squats 700 pounds?
Was he one of the red helmet ganstahs from the Senior Bowl practice? If he is then I'm fine with the pick, him and the other red helmet gangstah was dominating OLinemens all day long at practice.
Anybody heard the extent of his injury?

Lot of guys come back from ACLs. Lattimore is not a good example. His entire knee was shredded.
How old is this guy?

Was just about to mention this... tearing an ACL during a pro day is not near the same level of Lattimore's injury. He had the "terrible triad" in a butal blunt force trauma injury.

found this too btw.

NC State EDGE/DL Kentavius Street had successful surgery to repair a torn ACL.
Street suffered a torn ACL during a private workout. It is a totaly bummer, because it comes on the heels of a great East-West Shrine week and a pulled msucle at the NFL Combine. Ian Rapoport still expects Street to be drafted, and we think he will make good on a day three selection.

Kentavius Street - DL - Wolfpack
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline hears that NC State edge rusher Kentavius Street will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL "in the next couple of weeks."
News broke on Wednesday that Street had suffered a significant knee injury, with clarification later arriving courtesy of PFT's Mike Florio that he had sustained a torn ACL while going through a private workout with the Giants. Pauline relays that the 6-foot-2, 280-pounder has had a "phenomenal" attitude about his injury and down-the-road recovery. Given that ACL tears generally come with a six-month recovery timetable at the minimum, Street likely won't be ready for NFL training camps or the start of the regular season, but could potentially see the field before 2018 is out. We still view him as a probable Day 3 selection for later this month.

Kentavius Street - DL - Wolfpack
Updating a previous item, NC State EDGE/DL Kentavius Street tore his ACL during a private workout with the Giants.
We've seen prospects suffer significant injuries during the draft process in previous years. Offensive lineman Brandon Thomas tore his ACL while working out for the Saints a few years back. Fabian Moreau suffered an injury that required surgery, which dropped him to the second round. Street is a fantastic athlete and will likely still draw a third-day selection.

Maybe the stiffness is from too much butt? . . . no pun intended

With AA option being picked up.. Hell have plenty of time to recover.

This dude looks like a possible future monster big end.

No, they were the other two beasts drafted in the 3rd round, Justin Jones & B.J. Hill.

Street is just as good though, the stats are misleading because they were all such great players.

My issue is that not everyone recovers from an ACL the same player. Guys like Frank Gore and TJ Watt I'm fine with because you saw them recover and play well, so you're happy.

We screwed the pooch on this one, Lynch even said they had a 3rd round grade pre-injury. The injury was just over a month ago, that is a minimum of a two round ding. This is horrendous value.

If someone else wanted to take the gamble let them, we should have waited.

Could be wrong but I think that wasn't him. I know he performed well at the Shrine game
