Why would they trade Givens? He's young, makes peanuts and is one of our better interior DL.

Kerr is 30 years old on a one-year deal. He gone.

I think DJ Jones is also on a one year deal which makes the math a little harder. Personally I am always for keeping the younger guys as long as the drop off in talent isn't too great. Seems like we have been waiting for Jones to reach his potential for the last 3 of 4 years. Would hate to see the team sell out completely just to try and win it all this year. I think they need to keep looking towards the future when deciding who to keep and who to cut.

Maybe he's just now getting comfortable playing interior DL. Hope so because we need our interior guys to step up. I don't think we've got a game wrecker or that 1 guy that's going to consistently make impactful plays in that group, but we got a bunch of guys that should contribute.

Are you serious? Armstead has proven to be a dominant player against the run and pass when allowed to play inside. DJ Jones has proven to be a dominant player inside against the run. Kinlaw showed flashes last season and the word out of camp is that hes been nearly impossible for the offensive line to handle. Now add in street and youve got a handful of interior guys who are all by far more than just "contributers."

Armstead and Kinlaw inside on passing downs with Street rotating to keep the fresh while Bosa and Ford attack the edge is one solid game wrecker.

When did this happen?

2019. Other than that, He's been pretty much average.

True. Funny how that happens when it's a contract year.
Maybe its just me but I don't get the hype behind Street. I get that he squats 50000 LBS and he looks good in practices but it does not show up on film ever. Again maybe its just me but I think we are too deep on the interior to keep this guy around on the active roster.

Hopefully I'm wrong and he has finally made that leap this off season.

Who do we cut if Street makes it though? I'd hate to lose Kerr, Key, or Hurst, no way they cut Givens, while AA, Bosa, Dee, Ebukam, Kinlaw, & Jones are all GTD spots due to 1. they're good, and 2. their salaries, we'd lose cap room.

I hope they keep all 11. Go thin at QB and TE to compensate. Our defense goes as our D line goes. It's our strongest unit on the team and rotating depth is a huge key to its success.

What has he shown to warrant a team claiming him?

Dominating camp and teams know how deep our D line is.

I feel the same way tbh. I don't see him being anything more than a bench player, but who knows, maybe he'll prove us wrong this year.

So another team is going to cut someone on their team for a guy who was injured 2018, 2019 and in 2020 he was active for 15 games but managed 15 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 FF, 0 FR. With all the injuries to our DL last year he had every opportunity to show his value and I just didn't see it. I don't think a team would claim him based off of a beat writer saying he had a good camp.

Who are you keeping instead if you're going 9 or even 10 DL?
