Goodwin is also on the verge of turning 30 with a long history of injuries. I don't think he'd fetch much in return.

Especially considering the chemistry that him and Jimmy have had when they're both healthy.
I am gonna catch a case if they keep a 1 year rental (Matthews) over a guy who seems destine for stardom (James Jr.)

True. I think he's worth more to the 49ers than he is on the trade market. Unless he's lost a step, he brings an element to the offense that no other WR on the roster does. Now that there's some depth on the WR corp, Goodwin can play a limited role which could increase his overall effectiveness.

You get rid of Goodwin and the middle will be clogged up with wr's who all run the same speed

Dbs fear speed and Goodwin has it

Yeah, I don't like the durability issues, but realistically this team is built on a great pass game, steady run game, and DL pressure. They are going to try to score points and then try to disrupt the opposing offense to get the ball back sooner than later. A healthy Goodwin for 8 games is more valuable than say a backup DT, DB, LB, OL, TE. Goodwin can help score points. Said backup is more likely just a link in the chain.

Personally id rather have James and Matthews over Taylor. Theyre both healthy too. Taylor be gettin hurt and hes not big or fast hes good on 3rd down but hes limited. Them injuries keep setting taylor back hes gonna miss the first 3-4 games. James returned a kickoff last year we aint had no one return a kickoff before that since week 1 2011 ted ginn vs seattle if i remember correctly. James has break away speed and hes getting better as a receiver that was a nice double move yesterday he can take the top off a defense taylors only good underneath.
More speed on the team is a good thing

I agree but he was the training camp darling & Kyle & John think the world of Wes Walker Jr. I say the guys who are healthy should have the upper hand, but at the end i just dont see them keeping Matthews over TT
I like Trent, but if the guy can't play because of injury, I think he needs to sit and stay on the sideline.. Shanny needs to sit down and see who can help the team WIN right now.. and as good as Taylor is, it ain't happening while we're waiting for him to get back..

To keep it real though Taylor aint really done nuthin in this league. He got semi famous toward the end of 2017 because of some 3rd down conversions he got. Jimmy G made him look better too he dont suck but hes just average to me. Matthews can do more and has done more in the league and based off preseason play hes been converting on 3rd down. Not to mention Matthews is a bigger target and can be used in the red zone hes fully healthy too. Richie James is way faster than Taylor and hes an above average returner. I thought taylor would be the next Wes Welker but that injury was a set back. They should IR him and keep Matthews and James then see how the season plays out just in case another receiver gets injured or we do a midseason trade involving one of our receivers. To me tho Mattthews and James can do everything Taylor can do and then some.

May even develop better than Taylor

He already is. I've been hyping Richie for a while. Sucks that Trent gets a for sure spot and this kid is on some b******t bubble. He's an NFL WR and playmaker. Faster than Taylor, quicker, runs better routes, better hands, big play ability and he's a kickoff returner

They are about the same size and both small school 6th round picks

Richie is a baller and better than Trent

Taylor plays a lot more "aggressive" then most any other receiver on this team. And we need that. He doesn't take s**t from anyone. And again, we need that.. Taylor was always open, made constant 3rd down conversions and plays bigger then he is.

I think & hope we keep both.
