They are about the same size and both small school 6th round picks

Richie is a baller and better than Trent

Taylor was the 177th pick and James was the 240th so no they're weren't drafted in the same rd.

Taylor is without question quicker than James. Taylor ran a 6.74 3-cone (81st percentile) and 4.01 shuttle (92 percentile) kid has sticky hands (never drops the ball) and is a great route-runner. He gets open fast (lead the NCAA in yards his final yr in college).

James ran a 6.87 3-cone (62nd percentile) and a 4.16 shuttle (62nd percentile), he's faster than Trent but not quicker. They're both good route runners, but I give the nod to Taylor.

Like Phoenix said they're not the same player, not sure why you're lumping them together?

Taylor plays a lot more "aggressive" then most any other receiver on this team. And we need that. He doesn't take s**t from anyone. And again, we need that.. Taylor was always open, made constant 3rd down conversions and plays bigger then he is.

I think & hope we keep both.

Last season that was hardly the case.

Thank you for a logical, truthful POV

s**t, it's "gotcha" time. They were both low ass picks: 5th and 7th round respectively. Point still stands. Neither gets a draft status pass like a Pettis would get

I guess you guys will say that Trent is a third down specialist or some crap like that? And what is Richie? He could be a third down specialist but he can also be so much more. The reason I'm discussing these guys is that they are similar in size, small college and draft status. The fact that Trent gets a surefire spot on the 53 impacts other WRs.

Let's just see what plays out in games. Cone drills don't matter when the bullets fly. Hopefully he stays healthy so you have a decent sample of real data to defend him as opposed to cone drills three years ago in shorts

His hands were not sticky at all last year, and the kid was never open. He's also not available which is the biggest knock. Hopefully he proves me wrong

Nothing about saying gotcha and everything with stating things that aren't facts.

He's not a better route runner, he doesn't have better hands, and Taylor actually showed he was one of the better WRs on 3rd Downs in 2017....

He should have a roster spot because he's a good slot WR, has a great rapport with our QB, and was showing it all through training camp (and we saw it when healthy in 2017) that s**t isn't made up.

I like James and I got no problem with him making the team... you don't have to try and s**t on a different WR to prop him up.

James really looked like he belongs in this league in preseason. I get a bit of a Victor Cruz vibe when I watch him these days. Cruz was an UDFA and James might as well have been. Their pre draft measurables are almost identical, with Cruz's vert being the only distinguishable difference. Cruz is a little bigger, but I think in a few years James should have more muscle on him. Does James have a salsa dance in his repertoire?

I mean Cruz was 20 lbs bigger and 3 inches taller. Having the same measurable and being that much bigger is a plus to Cruz. But I get what you're saying as far as their game goes.

James was my darkhorse from OTAs ever since. I've always hoped he made the roster (check my posts) and I'm pumped after last night's game. With Goodwin, Taylor, Pettis, Samuel, Hurd and him we have an enormous potential at WR. Any of the young guys could have a breakout year.

How about this one instead?

Yea id rather have James than Taylor. James can score from any spot on the field i was mad he got caught from behind in that raider game last year but the safety had an angle. Taylors quick and can catch James can do both and he can burn defenses. Trent aint that fast u cant throw a go route to him and its starting too look like hes gonna keep getting injured first his back now his toe smh.

If this guy doesn't make the team Lynch should be fired on the spot.
