It's pretty easy what I'm trying to "ague" Kyle's scheme doesn't use 11 personnel remotely close to what the rest of the league does. 3 WR sets aren't going to be used as much and THAT needs to be accounted for when we're talking about the bottom of the roster. We will not be keeping 7 WRs (unless they really don't see Taylor playing until after the bye).

He's ALWAYS used 21 personnel and it is a big part of his scheme. It was NOT out of need last yr...I don't know what else to tell ya. There's a reason why they paid Juice 3x more than the next FB, there's a reason he brought in Coleman who's said himself he's never played out as a WR as much as he has this off season. There's a reason they paid Jet as much as they did as well.

Kyle is the HC now, he makes the play-calls, has final day on the roster, and is building this team how he wants. So YEAH he's clearly built it to fit his ideal offensive scheme.

I think it obvious to everyone that those numbers are drastically skewed based off of last year's WR corps, or lack there of. If you can't get that then there isn t much more to discuss on the subject.

Dont kid yourself, Kyle wants to pass the ball and be an explosive offense. We are talking about a guy who threw the ball on 3rd down with the Super bowl on the line when a FG likely wins the game.

The FB and running game has always been a big part of the Shannahan/WCO offense. But its all to open up the passing game.

And we will likely carry 7 after the cuts because TT definitely won't be ready for week one.

Kyle does want to pass the ball. But he wants to feature a heavy dose of 21 personnel, it is no secret. And that personnel grouping does not limit or change the ability to pass the ball a whole lot and be explosive. He is the only one in the league doing it, it forces teams to choose base or sub packages to defend it and allows him to take advantage of that.

His use of 21 has been well discussed by both local media and national media.

21 is not a byproduct of lack of talent, it is purely by design. It is what HE wants to do. You can be in denial if you so choose but everyone else around the league from media to analysts to coaches and FO execs know he is doing some different (and innovative in a copycat league).
Does everyone in here not understand that the numbers are largely inflated because our number 1 WR was Kendrick Bourne who isn't even going to make the team one year later? Y'all be smoking that fire up in here huh?

Our #1 WR when the season began was not Bourne, and we were using 21 heavy. Heck we did it all last TC too, and in 2017 both thru the off-season and regular season. And it was used in Atlanta as well, only the numbers increased here because Juice is a more versatile weapon that allows more innovation and creativity for Kyle.

And we will do it again this year.

I highly suggest you do some research on Kyle's offensive strategy, scheme and personnel use.

Beathard was our starting QB for 8 games. All of our receivers' numbers were deflated.
Impressive.

Lol, dude give it a rest, every team runs the ball. You aren't telling anybody anything. That's called football. This is the same offense Denver used to run. I'm certain I know it infinitely better than you.

No it's because Kyle wants to run 21 personnel. It had nothing to do with our trash ass receivers or our QB carousel. I suggest you do some research.

You know it infinitely better yet every analyst, media type and coach in this league knows Kyle wants to run a heavy does of 21 personnel and that it is his bread and butter, where he can disguise run or pass.

You have brought nothing to the table that supports your "claims".

Prove Kyle wants to run a different personnel grouping and has had his hands tied to date thus is running 21.

Go ahead, I'll wait....

LAST year is last year, and YES we need to realize the fact that James had a very very good pre-season..

but the point here is that.... he had better showing than BOURNE - MATTHEWS - GOODWIN and even PETTIS..

I'm sure both rookies (Hurd & Deevah) will make the team, as well as Pettis but that's only because of the fact that we drafted him early last year...

as for other WRs we have, how can ANYONE w/the right stage of mind believe that the rest deserve a spot over James.

Isn't this the point of going thru OTA's - TC - Pre Season??

to see if you deserve to be w/the team???

I'm all for James making the team...also gotta look at snap counts in preseason. James probably had more than any WR, opportunity was there for him to put up numbers (and he did).

IMO he should make it over Matthews/Bourne for his return skills alone.

HAD a great feeling on this one that we will be on ON THE SAME PAGE!!!

Crazy legs might be your best one yet, moon. This one fits.

So you have nothing...not that it is surprising.

Nothing stopped us from investing more thru 3 offseasons in more receivers, both in the draft and FA. Instead we have stockpiled running backs and and went after two RBs who can run routes like receivers, landed Juice (when he could have had DiMarco for cheaper and who was already familiar with the Offense). And have installed and ran a scheme that is rooted deep in 21 personnel.

Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

Dont kid yourself, you have yet to see what a shannahan offense is. None of us have yet. The pieces are slowly coming together. He is finally in charge of the roster and that takes time to build.
