Phoenix, you thought Trent Taylor was better than Richie

Richie is a keeper. He makes good things happen. Good for a couple big plays per year

Yeah, and Cardinals fans were saying the exact same stuff about Nelson. Same player, same issues. Now he's bouncing from team to team every year.

Can't be a run heavy team and have someone that is a major liability as a blocker playing heavy snaps. It is what it is.

What are your expectations from a 5th WR?

now Aiyuk — that man could go for 1,200 and 10

Agreed. James would be lucky to get 400 if Aiyuk, Samuel, and Kittle are healthy.

You asked Phoenix, but if you see James as the 5th guy. That works. It also means 20 catches is where he maxes out at. I say positions 3 - 6 are up for grabs.
I think Richie James might be a marginal trade candidate at the cut deadline. Wouldn't net us much, but he's had success as a returner. Could see him netting a 2023 7th or something.

We're lacking legit guys behind our top two and he's at least flashed as a receiver, tho apparently not as a blocker. We'll see. Like others have said I think this is an area we'll be keeping our eyes open for vet cuts / trade options. Also not getting my hopes up, but maybe Kyle sees some potential in Sherfield beyond just ST I am an optimist, so I hope someone will emerge from that rather underwhelming group behind Brandon and Deebo.
I wonder if this is finally the year we use him. I feel like whenever he plays he does well.

If he is the 3rd in a 3wr set and we pass 5 times out of it a game, along with him filling in for breathers. 15-20 passing snaps a game, i can see him having 1 big play a game(30+yds) and with 3-4 catches a game.

I see him being more productive at WR than bourne, but getting less snaps.
Just to point out one thing. James had chemistry with Nick Mullens and he is no longer on the team.

I think Richie James isnt worth the roster spot. Even before his injury. He's not even a decent returner is probably the worst returner on our team. And receiver wise He's definitely not top six. Webster look like a beast at returning

She gone!
Bye Richie
He's been fairly steady at returner, not a game breaker, but not reliable. Benjamin makes him expendable.

How is he not reliable but fairly steady? Benjamin might not make it. Webster looked super fluid, quick and smooth returning. Like a natural
