WHAT IN THE f**k ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Jesus.

Uhmmm, he's basically saying do what Kap did. And when you lose your job, you'll understand why Kap is out of a job. Your 1st amendment rights don't protect you from getting fired.

Exactly. Obviously it's a pieceful protest so why not? What's it going to hurt? Will you not do it because you would get fired? Or is it because work is obviously a stupid platform to use?

You want to talk equality then let's talk equality. Being rich doesn't give you permission to do things everyday people would get punished for. The reason behind the protest doesn't matter. Hell at my job I could refuse to recommend certain products to customers due to them being made by child labor and while my intentions were great, costing my employer money does nothing good for either side.

I mean what good did pissing off half of the fanbase do? How is pushing people away from your cause helping anybody? And the one thing that bugs the s**t out of me is this lack of understanding with those who do find this disrespectful. People in this thread are so quick to call anyone who disagrees racist or pin some ulterior motive on them instead of possibly trying to understand WHY people disagree. YOU may not think it's disrespectful and Reid may not mean for it to be disrespectful, but that doesn't mean that I don't find it disrespectful.

I was taught to cherish the flag and anthem before I can even remember. My grandfather who fought in 2 wars would take me out every morning to hang that flag with pride. To this day it bothers me when people don't take their hats off for the anthem. Again Reid may have the very best intentions but s**tting all over something I cherish is only seeing the glass half full.
HECK, with all honesty, if I ever think about bringing both Kaep and Reid for a work out, and/or interview, I would personally ask them why do you all of a sudden say that you no longer would kneel down???

Do you now suddenly feel that by protesting this way, you are not getting a chance to land a job in the NFL and the sports you love most??

..and if you really believe in what you are protesting about, why don't you stop trying to get a job in the NFL and continue a legacy as a protestor, I'm sure you've made enough money to survive..

Also for those who feel disrespected by the acts of players facing the flag and kneeling.

What do yall do at home when the National Anthem is playing? Do you stand?... do you tell your kids who might be running around, to come to the living room and stand with you. Do you tell your wife, who might be in another part of the house... to come to the living room and stand with you?

Or if you are with your friends.. do you all stand together in front of the TV?

And don't forget the orginal message. Kneeling to bring awareness/start conversations about Police Brutality. Which worked.

maybe you do get your whole family to come to the living room to stand with you, that's great. But for the vocal majority, imo... it's BS. A bunch of hypocrites, who have other motives.

This is Jeopardy, the category is gestures.

The answer The bending of the lower leg, done as a sign of respect, usually when a player is injured.

We know it has nothing to do with "kneeling". Everyone could stop to kneel and stick to raising their fist instead.....and then the same vocal group will make a big deal about that..

The players could stop both and just stick to staying in the locker room during the National Anthem... well the same vocal group (with the help of he media) would find out who stayed back and didn't honor America and harass them when they get back on the field... or through social media... or pressure owners to force the players to come out or to fine them.

So the players then agree to come out or what ever... no kneeling... no fist... bla bla.

They then choose to practice social justice on their days off or off work. Then the same vocal group will b***h that the players are not concentrating on football...and are holding the team back. They need to do this on their own time in the offseason.

Ok players agree... no protesting during the regular season. Players choose to take advantage of the offseason and REALLY try to bring awareness..maybe be even not hold back and be PC, since they have been forced away from peaceful protest by just taking a knee.

Um... the same vocal group will b***h that these players STILL represent the team...and they shouldn't embarrass the team like this. They should wait until they are free agents or something when they don't represent a team.. a city.... these same vocal fans!

At the end of the day... it's the same as it has always been regarding reasoning. Kaepernick and Eric Reid know it.... other NFL players know it.

one more time.

since jiks wants to derail the thread.

again, we were just discussing how the case might go....but if yall want to go there.

desperate? Make a case?

lol... these are just facts. You can see it with your own eyes. I don't need to make a case.

if they cared THAT much about the flag...about the anthem. They would have got there WAY early to do all those simple unpatriotic things.

that one i don't get either.. like who will know why you are kneeling ?

but if your standing in front of the lobby with some type of sign pushing the protest to everyone walking up might make people uncomfortable

understandable.

although I don't think that's what the NFL Players were doing...or anything similar. just peacefully facing the flag. Kneeling (which is a show of respect).

they made their point got their awareness heard..time to take another/different step toward progress. i mean if they do get signed and kneel.. hows that going to change people for the second time ?

that was their plan. And I'm sure they would have stuck to it. but when you have the President instigating...and some owners making their own idiot comments...Still some Police Officers not being held accountable (black or white victims)

God knows what the future holds.... so if Teams are trying to give them an Ultimatum like YOU BETTER NOT EVER AGAIN!!! PINKY PROMISE????

well s**t, I'd be the same way. If I were a player...I wouldn't plan on kneeling, but if some crazy s**t happens in the next year or two... and no one is doing anything about it...if the media is not bringing awareness to it. I can't promise I won't do my part by peacefully protesting.

I don't think there is nothing wrong with that.

I believe nobody is surprised about Kap and Reid being unemployed. I am certainly not, which is why I say you reap what you sow.

I also believe nothing will come of this collusion case.

I never believed Kap would bring home a Lombardi. He was a one read and run guy who flashed randomly, but overall as the league figured him out he became pedestrian. One JH was fired Kap was toast, he loved Jim. I was super happy when he opted out because we were going nowhere with him at that point.

Reid looked good last year, but given Colbert surprise, Tarrt, Ward, and now this draft - there was no need to keep him. If its true we made him a 1 year offer, that makes perfect sense, but i guessed he would not be retained. We are bringing in all new blood under this regime.

kneeling now is not going to do anything anymore, if that is the only way they can think of promoting the cause.. consider the movement doomed. There really are other ways.. as past protest and movements didn't involve Pro Athletes kneeling, but actually talking to be heard.
