the media doesn't need to promote his stuff, he should be doing it right ?, Nothing on his website, nothing on his twitter. the last time he even talked about something was when he won the award last April.. before that he was quite also.
Showing off is exactly what he should be doing right now for the cause.
"Amnesty International, the global human rights organization, gave Kaepernick its highest honor — the 2018 Ambassador of Conscience Award — in Amsterdam on Saturday. Past winners of the award, which "celebrates individuals and groups who speak out for justice," include former South Africa president Nelson Mandela, Malala Yousafzai, the education activist from Pakistan who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban, and rock group U2."

LOL at this...
Says who?
According to you people who have jobs can't protest or change things? That is beyond ridiculous.
What do you know about protesting and change?
The Civil Rights Movement was made up entirely of full time protesters like Rosa Parks.

TBH Kaepernick has been a pretty terrible activist. He started the whole thing by accident. He wasnt looking to be the next Malcolm X, hes just an immature kid who wears police pig socks and gets his political news from Twitter. He was protesting injustices, but he stumbled into this cultural icon thing. He was thrust out into it by the media who blew the story up. He's a terrible public speaker, and when he actually did have things to say, he wore ridiculous shirts with Fidel Castro on them, and expected people to take his opinions seriously.
Ever since he asked for his release from the 49ers, he has done his activism privately. He hasnt had much of anything to say publicly that isnt related to the NFL collusion case, and those are just written statements from his lawyer. Its weird that hes being billed as this generational right activist when all he really did is start a massive forest fire and walk away.
Hes done nothing to try and bridge any gaps between the cultural divide, which is confusing, because hes literally connected to both sides. Youd think hed be a perfect candidate to create an understanding. He comes across as someone who really doesnt fully understand what hes talking about, because hes likely being fed the information by the activist groups hes associated with. He has disappeared from view, he doesnt bridge any divides, and doesnt even vote in the presidential election that happened RIGHT in the middle of it all.

Reid and Kaepernick will always be linked but let's try to keep the discussion separate if possible.

Yall continue to live your bubble.
As much as some of yall try to change history or spread lies, who are they for?
There are millions of people here in the States... from young black people, to older ones... to other people of color.. to other open minded white folks...to Veterans....to people in Africa (where he visited) who all appreciate what Colin Kaepernick has done. Who have been affected by his nationwide out reach. Heck again even in Africa.
THEY are the ones I'm sure who's opinion he cares about....not ones like yourself who choose to lie to justify your feelings.
Again pad each other on the back, and stay in that safe bubble.

We'll see how much the needle moves towards the racial progress he seeks.
It certainly didn't come without major road bumps, and as 99 mentioned he wasn't the most articulate in delivering his message. Again, pig socks and Castro shirts DO diminish the overall message unless of course totally pandering to one side is all that matters. For the record, Cubans/Cuban Americans were on a whole pissed about the whole Castro shirt thing and as they are minorities, it should count for something.
His overall demeanor does not seem as sincere as I would like it to be. Had he started this a month after his Super Bowl appearance I'd be a lot more willing to "buy in" but as such he does it literally at his career low point (or one of). Dude was gonna get Gab's spot no matter what if he just waited it out........LOL.
BTW, careful on the bubble talk. Some of us here really are exposed to both sides of the argument......both on FB and real life....so after careful consideration I consider his effort a "C" at best.
As 99 said it best "no attempts to bridge", and "who better to do it but him" (based on his mixed ethnicity).

Not sure what you are referring to, it was reported that we offered him a deal, though he denied we did.
Even Lynch said that he's a starting quality safety, and he's likely to get a better offer than we would give him.
He's being screwed over, I don't buy the slow safety market BS.

They are not. In this passing league, the position of strong safety has been replaced by a nickel/slot back on the roster, or by a young draftee what can play the run well for much less money than a veteran will get.
Reid, along with a half dozen other veteran safeties, is too slow to play the pass and too expensive for an in-the-box run defender.
