Again I'm just saying it was unnecessary for them to go into detail. It almost makes it seem like they are trying to blame Reid.

Well he does have a lawsuit against the league right now. You kind of have to state how you handled him.

The Titans also agreed to a deal with safety Jason Thompson.

The Titans tried to bring in Eric Reid for a visit, but he had "multiple flight cancellations," sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Reid had three separate flights from New Jersey to Tennessee canceled, sources told Schefter. The Titans are now set at safety, but the team is open to bringing Reid in again if the need arises, the sources said.

If it were a flight issue, why not still bring him in this week. If the point of trying to get better is getting the best player available, why not find out about Reid? You have the film on him. See if he's healthy and go from there.

Why be "set" on Jason Thompson? Bring Reid in this week, and watch him show how obviously he is better than what they have.

$. Reid and Vacerro command a starting contract. I haven't seen the details of what Kenny signed but I'm guessing it's higher than Thompson. Also guessing Reid would be looking for a similar deal to Kenny's.

No, I get that. They must really believe in Vacerro... I would think if they were going to give one of the 2 starting money, they would make sure they were getting best available.

If this "last second" outside interest in Vacerro was the reason for them to quickly sign him, instead of waiting for Reid to make a flight.... then you would think who ever had that last second interest (who for some reason waited this long to show it, instead of signing Vacerro last week or the week before)

Well you would think, that team(s) would be going HARD after Reid right now... since they lost out on Vaccero.

That is true. Maybe Reid's camp should look into who suddenly got hot for Vacerro and why. Tenn it makes sense they just lost their guy. I don't think they had any ill intention. It will come down to Reid or Kenny. The other team if it's not need for a safety do you got a case for collusion?

I think Dallas would be a great spot for him but because Jerry Jones that won't be happening.

Maybe Seattle will finally stop b******tting and sign him, their safety situation isn't so hot right now with Kam effectively retired and ET holding out.

These safety contracts are just brutal right now. Boston got one year, $1.5 mil with $750k guaranteed, now Vaccaro's terms were released.


Judging by those salaries, the going rate for Reid should be around half of what the 49ers paid him last season. Might be someone they take a strong look at bringing back if he's willing to drop his asking price.

Kenny Vaccaro's 1-year deal with the #Titans included no guarantees, but he gets a $100K bonus if he's on the Week 1 roster (when his salary would also be locked in) and the max is $2.75 million with incentives. Solid upside in soft safety market.

Yep and you hit it on the nose in previous discussions Phoenix, these Safety types are a dime a dozen and easily replaced. Proof is on our own team, we replaced Reid with a 7th rounder that started 6 games in college. The ball hawks are MUCH more desired than box type safeties
