How many colleges claim to be DBU? Good pick up for the Panthers. We sure do need him

Neither safety is playing well, Tartt has signed an extension, but Colbert is on a 7th round rookie deal. You could easily give Reid a 1 year deal, move Tartt to FS and Reid in at SS.

Sounds like the Niners tried to sign Reid this week to a multi-year deal.

We wanted to bring Reid back but he didn't want to return. Please do not blame Lynch.

Another team that made a sincere run at Eric Reid this week was the #49ers, who had interest in signing him to a multi-year deal.

Good for Eric Reid. Happy for him. Not happy we have to read about this "sincere run at signing him" that we apparently did. But happy for the guy.

Glad he has a job, and on a decent defense and team at that. Congrats

Glad Reid landed somewhere. Be curious to see if he continues his kneeling or if he has maybe seen the writing on the wall. As to why he didn't sign with the 49ers. He will probably start with the Panthers because I think their safety went on IR. With the Niners he probably would have been headed for a back-up role again as soon as Tartt got healthy.

Probably a better shot at starting elsewhere. Once our guys are healthy he'd slide to backup status. Plus, a fresh start on a new team has an upside.

Niners FO misjudged the talent in the backfield and totally undervalued his worth to the D side of the ball. On the field and in the film room.
