Niners FO misjudged the talent in the backfield and totally undervalued his worth to the D side of the ball. On the field and in the film room.
No they didn't. He wasn't resigned bc Tartt showed he was just as capable as Eric was and its as simple as that. When Tartt got hurt then they showed interest and it sounds like they made it clear it would be as a backup once Tartt was healthy again.
But hey if you want to create your own narrative undervaluing and the film room with no facts then by all means do so.

Not going back and forth if that's what you're trying to angle for. Tartt had done nothing at that point to say he was head and shoulders better than Reid. All he done is miss tackles and get injured. As far as I'm concerned he's on the ward career path.
So I'm sticking with what I said before. If ya don't like it move on.

He could have wanted a 1 year deal as a "prove it" and earn a bigger payday next year. That's my guess at least.
