"Nobody wants your money Jed"! Really? I bet there are a large number of people who have a desperate need of his money.

Including Eric Reid...who certainly had the option of retiring if he didn't care about money if he felt the owner didn't support their cause.

I had it out on his twitter with a few folks. It was great to see Torrey Smith come in and say how cool Jed was about everything. Reid's response comes off super sour grapes. Jed can't arrest those other cops or prosecute them. He can't magically end racism or police brutality. Saying nobody wants his money and implying how York didn't care about their message is not helping anything.

I also find it highly hypocritical for Kap or Reid to play the nobody cares about your money, money isn't everything. While it's true, money isn't going to fix everything then why did Kap and Reid take money from the NFL? Why did Kap turn down the Denver trade BEFORE his protest(which is what I keep reminding people who act like we didn't keep him only cuz of his protest...how can they claim that when we tried to get rid of him before the protest?) only because Denver asked him to take a pay cut?

Call me crazy but I would think going to play for the defending SB champs with a lot more visibility, prime time games would've been a much better way to spread his message versus sticking with the 49ers, a weaker roster, new HC and having to fight for teh starting job with Blaine Gabbert.

I respect that they risked their careers to stand up/kneeled for something they believed in and it sucks that the message got lost(which IMO is another reason why I think Jed could've supported the message but not the delivery of it) I still know people who don't know wtf Kap was kneeling for because most of the media covered the "49ers QB kneels" and not the interviews where he explained why.

I respect that but I'm tired of the narrative being changed about how the 49ers treated these guys. End of the day if Kap was as talented as Pat Mahomes he'd still be in the league.
Reis tells Jed he doesn't want his money. He wants justice. That's nice Eric but what's your plan for getting rid of racial injustice. We fought a war in 1860 that killed thousands of Americans and that didn't solve the problem. We had the Jim Crow laws that have been struck down. That didn't solve the problem. We had civil rights marches and protests and more laws were passed. That didn't solve the problem. We've had numerous protests over countless police killings of black people and that didn't solve the problem.

So tell me Eric, what is your plan other than saying we want justice? What's your plan for getting people to change their attitude? How are we going to get the police departments to do a better job of weeding out the bad apples and regaining respect? I don't have the answers but apparently nobody else does either.

Based on twitter reactions the only solution is to make sure Kap and Eric have long term and lucrative NFL careers.

Cuz apparently 49ers didn't support those guys or they would've kept them on the team. Performance on the field, scheme fit, pay scale be damned.
He's still butthurt about us making him play Linebacker. Face It Eric, the Nines did you a favour since you suck at your original position.
So weird that every player, past and present, has had a good relationship with Jed except for Reid. He's so butthurt about how the Niners didn't want him anymore that he takes shots at the franchise every chance he gets. Get over it.
Eric, even if Jed did "beg" you not to kneel, I believe the million dollars he is donating shows where his heart is. Where's yours?
Reid doenst have a plan. He is a professional victim. He got butthurt at the players coalition bc they rolled out a plan to fight the injustices the best way they knew how. He probably wasn't included because they knew they'd get no where with him.

He'll play the martyr card this year since he probably wont be making a team.
Reid has been whinning since Jaquiski Tartt beat him and Saleh/Shanahan made him play LB. We played the Panthers last year and he said "I don't forget" pregame, said nothing after being spanked a 50 burger.
Reid is a good player, I think we screwed him playing him FS even if he had a really good rookie season. His last season as an starting SS for the niners was good. But the Niners decided to go younger and cheaper by letting him walk and extending Tartt. It was a business decision.
The same with Kap. He had no business making all that money. He doesn't fit the Shanahan offense. Kyle wanted to pick his guy, and yes he missed by not picking Watson or Mahomes. Traded for Jimmy G, who he wanted the Browns to draft in 2014 over Manziel.

That's the thing with this whole blackballing thing(which btw he's big time doubling down on right now on twitter)

But fact is Kap wasn't good enough to make the money he was making and the way he was playing. I don't even know if it's as much about his protest now but the media attention he would bring. He would be a backup QB, would he take backup money?

We remember how he declined to take a paycut to go to Denver? Who btw was the defending SB champs were in essence guaranteeing him a starting job and much better roster to win a SB and have a bigger platform for his upcoming protest.

So cuz we didn't keep a guy we were going to keep BEFORE his protest it means we were letting him go cuz of his kneeling???

As for Reid we didn't trade or cut him. He played and we moved him to a spot we felt could get him on the field. After he was let go he was signed by the Panthers...because as far as players go he's a much better safety than Kap is a QB.

Just cuz he's not signed now doesn't mean he's blackballed. How can you be blackballed when you were on a roster and playing after your lawsuit saying you were?

Does anyone think if Kap was as talented as Pat Mahomes that he would be out of a job right now?
Reid is a butt hurt clown

Yes, I do. Now, he's out for too long to really get to know but the last years? He was better than Bottles, Carr, Osweiler, Newton, Savage, Fitzpatrick, Palmer and so on and so forth.

I agree with the rest of your post, though. Reid is showing a kind of attitude that make you understand that so many GMs don't want a guy like him in the organization. It's not about his protest, it's the whining and b***hing.

I completely agree, if Kaep was at the level to make a team a SB contender, there would be a number of teams willing to take the political heat as a result of signing him. Kaep had 2 great years here and then teams figured out how to contain him and that he was a single-read QB. No one was willing to take the heat for a guy who is probably in the range of a 20th-32nd ranked QB. Reid wasn't one of our best safeties so he was moved to LB since our LB corps was so weak at that point and then moved on.

Antonio Brown is a top 5 WR in the league but the Steelers finally had enough. He didn't last long with the Raiders, and even shorter with NE. Granted Kaep and Reid didn't have character issues so this is an apples and oranges comparison, I'm only pointing out the tolerance level of coaches and ownership when it comes to the talent vs headache quandary.
Reid sounds like someone with a lot of built up anger ,

Hypocrisy: Kneeling and disrespecting whether intentionally or not your Countries National Anthem and flag in which thousands have served/protected and lost lives to defend so that you can make millions playing a game and not serve one day of your life to earn that said freedom in which you are crying about. f**k this clown
