the firing does not make any sense... you allow the guy to draft Baker, then he doesn't get a whole year of chance???

I was expecting Hue to fire his OC rather..

Same people complaining how 'terrible' Shanny is right now.

Right. All this hindsight talking. Hue was the hottest candidate at the time and many on this board were sure that he was the next coach until Chip Kelly showed up. With all the geniuses on this board, I'm wondering why they don't hold one of the 32 GM jobs available, or are over scouting or some other high profile job in Football operations for a franchise. With that said, sadly Jackson's tenure is by far and away the worse HC run in the history of football. Worse than Rod Rust, worse than Cam Cameron, Chip Kelly, and even Jim Tomsula. He definitely should get another job as a OC and will never be a HC again. Amazing how terrible this went. He was decent in Oakland and I felt was undermined. But the Cleveland thing was a total disaster.

Hue Jackson fired. Per Schefter.

3-28 record will get you fired.

7-17 will get you 4-5 years here.

Well when theres an ovbious bill walsh like turn around coming....
Bill Walsh didn't go backwards from year one to two...

Its a joke. Any jerk off in niner talk can point to walshs slow start as a reason to preach paitience with kyle. I can show 3 million coaches who were 8-24 amd never turned it around.

Hey, now.

Which is why we have to look at more than an overall record. Walsh's defenses were pitiful in 1979 and 1980. The only thing they had going was a half decent offense. What about Walsh in years 1 and 2 instilled confidence going forward? How is it any different from Kyle? You could also argue he had more whiffs than hits at this stage (23 games) in his career.

I don't think it was Hue who drafted Baker.

Would have been funny if they demoted Hue to OC and promoted Haley to HC.

CLE probably looking for a WCO coach.

I can buy this. Normally if a guy is your QB, you want to get him in there ASAP (Hue was adamant about Tyrod Taylor being the starter), unless his plan was to have Baker sit as long as possible to buy him more time. Like if they somehow could've sat Baker until now and were starting him next week, Hue might still be coaching, assuming Dorsey wasn't pushing for Mayfield to be starting all along.

I was rooting for Jackson, but Todd Haley can eat a dick.

Jackson should be coaching somewhere soon.

They're burning it down.

I never liked Haley. He is a crude, ugly human being.

Yup, him and Gregg Williams. Funny that they were hired by the same team.
Ha ha ha! Browns gonna Brown.

Who fires an offensive HC and the OC on the same day midseason?

It's not like they have a #1 overall QB to think about. Oh wait...
Jackson, Haley, and Williams --all in a tenuous situation coming into this year. This is what happened when they don't learn how to play nice.

I understand GM Dorsey's desire to get a good HC with a credible coaching staff to guide the Browns...that said, I think his timing was bad. Mayfield has to be wondering WTFO? Dorsey should've fired Jackson either at the beginning or end of this season. Gregg Williams and whomever his new OC is could do further damage to Mayfield's rookie season. JD needs to bring in a solid, experienced HC who can bring in a good coaching staff to lead the Browns and serve that young team correctly. Beyond those young players, Browns fans deserve a lot better.
Who does Haley and Williams resembled

Haley - Dwight ?

Williams - Jim ?

Nah, I think since the Dorsey GM hire, this is the first year they haven't "Browned". If they were gonna Brown, they would have stuck Haley in at HC and called it a year. The move to fire Haley also was a must. I wouldn't be surprised if Haley undermined Jackson. Haley does not have a HC mentality and neither did Hue. Williams seems like an ass but he also doesn't seem to give a s**t about anything but his defense...which is exactly what you want from a DC.

If Dorsey doesn't have an outside person line up, I am sure Dorsey will come with a solid internal hire and it most likely will be a person who is respected by everyone, including Williams. May not be the best tactical HC, but it will be someone who is respected.
