Not nearly the same. McVay is an actual HC. No one, save for Josh McDaniels, is going to pass up a chance to be a HC. Either way, that rumor is stupid.
Why do you say that?

At the time, most 'zoners preferred Shanahan due to the fact McVay was "even younger?" Most felt McVay was too young to be able to control the players.

I guarantee you that the rams would not be as successful right now if they didn't have wade phillips running the defense. He commands respect on a team. He has 100% authority running the defense. McVay literally doesn't even pay attention when the defense is on the field and just goes and coaches up his offensive players.

I agree.

Even though the Rams have a lot of weapons on offense, the fact the defense is so well run allows the offense more chances to make plays.

As did Joe Gibbs, not to say that McVay is Joe Gibbs. And to the other poster, McVay is an actual HC because he holds the title of HC. Can't believe that's a serious question. That had nothing to do with KS who I still prefer over anyone that was available.

Right. All this hindsight talking. Hue was the hottest candidate at the time and many on this board were sure that he was the next coach until Chip Kelly showed up. With all the geniuses on this board, I'm wondering why they don't hold one of the 32 GM jobs available, or are over scouting or some other high profile job in Football operations for a franchise. With that said, sadly Jackson's tenure is by far and away the worse HC run in the history of football. Worse than Rod Rust, worse than Cam Cameron, Chip Kelly, and even Jim Tomsula. He definitely should get another job as a OC and will never be a HC again. Amazing how terrible this went. He was decent in Oakland and I felt was undermined. But the Cleveland thing was a total disaster.

I never wanted him and was glad he choose to go to the "better organization".
