Maybe he will be humbled in a year or two.

But, I'm still hoping the browns Embarrass the rams

Why dont people like players with personality in the nfl, especially a QB? Do people really enjoy the Tom Brady or Eli Manning personality? They are playing a game, thats for our entertainment, enough with this my QB needs to act like military officer
Agreed, I love it.

He's talking a lot of smack in public and can't back it up. Nobody likes that.

He set the record for TDs by a rookie last year. He's backed it up.
Browns WILL beat the Rams

Dude f**king talks like he and that s**t franchise arrived and been a perennial playoff team. That's why I can't stand him or that team, plus I enjoy seeing teams that try to sign everyone and not give a damn about character like them signing hunt fail miserably

Wake me up when he beats a decent team and not cupcakes like they did last year. Not surprising he set a record when guys come out throwing over 40 times a game and there's no film on you. How many rookies start out strong then fall off a cliff?

I like personality.
I don't like the "arrogance" Mayfield portrays.

Horses for courses. How long have Browns followed same old with same old. How'd they do with that?
Mayfield is at times irritating, comes over as arrogant, outspoken but he has energised that locker room and brings that energy onto the field with his antics. If HC and co have solid scheme and calls, Browns are definitely going to put it up the proverbial of some teams (including some gooduns).
He may not be a top ranked QB ever in his career, but he may well lift the mist of despair from the playing group enough to have them believe they are not a crap group awaiting the end of their time in the NFL. I have them pencilled in with a winning season - just.

... and as to his not backing up his words, well, they say if you tell a lie long enough and hard enough it eventually becomes the truth. Just ask politicians.

WTF are you talking about after 3 games? They have a horrible schedule for the next few weeks. Obviously the Rams this week, Ravens next week, then the 49ers, Seahawks, and Patriots. That's brutal for any team.

That's such a b******t excuse when you look at how many rookie QBs struggle in the league. Remember how bad Alex was? My lord, he was s**t. A guy just doesn't throw 27 touchdowns simply because their strength of schedule wasn't that great. And no tape? They had most of the season to get tape on the guy on the guy and he still kicked ass. I don't why people want to hate especially when our sorry ass franchise has mostly been a joke for the past 20 years.

Alex also had no OL, no WR, and Jim Hostler as a QB coach. Baker had way more talent around him.

Not saying Baker is a bust, but its very easy for a QB who flashed to lose confidence and never recover as the negativity and blame pulls them under.

I just think its laughable that people on here are so easy to criticize a guy 3 games into his second year after he had a terrific first year. The same people who were ripping Jared Goff and calling him a bust after his first year. Coaches can do a world of difference but its not like these guys were garbage prior to getting drafted.
