People get legit hit by helmets all the time Strahan did it to a teammate in practice and Howie said he saw it many times. Nobody got hurt.

When is the last time a player swung a helmet at another player's uncovered head in a game?

Pre-season and practice is not that uncommon from what Strahan, JJ and Long said on last week's pre game show. Strahan talked about how he had done it to a teammate.

Nothing pre-planned. Situational and heat of the moment. Making more out of this situation than what's really there. Dude will be just fine come next year.

It happening in a regular season prime time game makes it no more dangerous or egregious than it happening in practice. I am just telling you what players and coaches said on the pre-gane last week.

Howie and JJ called media members a joke for saying they never heard of it happening. They said th3 media was feeding fan frenzy and overreaction...as we see here.

august 2013. Antoine Smith vs Ritchie Incognito
Here is an interesting article on the subject. The difference between this event and the Incognito one is that Smith did not connect with Incognito, apparently.

That was swinging and connecting which is why Smith only got a game.

I don't care for some ex-players "back in my day we walked uphill both ways" war stories and anecdotes. I asked you pretty plainly the exact last time you saw one player hit another player with a helmet since you seemed to be implying that this was a totally normal, regular occurrence that is actually no big deal.

I can't recall seeing it but I do know that you get what you pay for. Rudolph came for Garrett head and he got his chain snatched. It's not what fans want to see so discipline is par for the course here. I'm not gonna overreact as a fan here because the league handled it. There's been far worse player misgivings and not nearly the outrage
Yes,...the outrage is a little bit comical. It being caught on a live TV broadcast is the reason for the indefinite suspension.

Live TV replays over and over ='s people with no real connection to the violence that comes with football being petrified. Something the NFL doesnt want.

Hockey to-be-damned,....They're fighting like hell for this image of a safe sport that looks fun and cool. Anyone that thinks it's the sheer conduct of a swing "connection" is fooling themselves.

Yea I've seen guys connect with hockey sticks to the head and baseballs too. Sometimes guys get heated. Violence occurs and then punishment is doled out. Life goes on

Lost in all this, is how much of dumpster fire the Browns were and still are. I had hopes of them turning the corner this year. Maybe they were overhyped and next year is the breakout year similar to San Francisco?

It's the Brownies, FL! They were massively overhyped and next year will be a down-year for them.
